Money Plus SP1 - No Improvement for Spending Tracker

I had hoped the long awaited service pack would resolve the "Spending
Tracker" performance issues, but sadly no, the performance remains lousy.

If I eliminate the Spending Tracker content from the home page, the home
page will display within 2-3 seconds. After adding the "spending Tracker"
content the display time slows to a snails pace...32-34 seconds.
The same performance problem exists on the "Spending Tracker" page
(accessible in the left hand menu on home page or budget summary)

Microsoft...please fix the spending tracker performance issues!

Thanks for the worthy suggestion. Yes I tried the "Nuke Bills"
repair...although I have not tried it since the SP1 update.
At this point I intend to simply limp along and try the upcoming new version
free trial download (which always seems to show up August or September)...If
that doesn't resolve it I may need to end my 13 year relationship with Money
and resort to my Big Chief notepad and #2 pencil.

So, I couldn't tell from your reply.
Did you check for any indication of a large number of "unaccepted
transctions" (the method 4 in the KB article I referenced)?

No, I did not consider method 4, because I do not have any unaccepted
transactions. I accept transactions promptly upon download and do not let
them languish in my account registers.

The truth of the matter is that I have a pristine (freshly created without
any accounts etc.) money 2005 file which supports the advanced budget. I
have converted that raw pristine file (without any accounts) then added an
account, created a rudimentary advanced budget, and at that point the
spending tracker responds poorly. Since I am not interested in the
simplistic budget features (advanced budget is not available unless you
upgrade a previous file - 2005 version is the last version where you can
create an advanced budget without upgrading from previous version) I have not
tried a fresh install, then create a file from scratch, set up a budget then
check the spending tracker. This proof of concept may satisfy a curiosity,
but frankly the advanced budget is what I'm after and I have been denied the
opportunity to create one from scratch since money 2005.

Untrue. Poke "advanced budget" into the search box of

The problem may actually be due to 'unaccepted transactions' in one or more
account that you don't pay attention to (for example a 'closed' account).

Thanks Cal. Clearly I did not enter the correct text in the help search or
simply overlooked the obvious? Either way, this is news to me and I
appreciate the feedback.

out of stock warning needs improvement

The warning does not specify what item(s), it just says something like "This item is out of stock. Would you like to continue?" That way one could check into the matter -- it could simply be that a PO was not yet received but that an item was taken out of the box for the customer. Alternately, it could indicate a wrong inventory quantity. Note: this issue does not apply to standard transactions (whe...

Did Money 2006 Fix 2 problems?
I'm wondering if Money 2006 fixed the following 2 problems: 1) Money 2005 Small Business version would not properly merge bank information with payment received information. Quite unacceptable. 2) Money 2005 Small Business version would not properly synchronize business accounts with the Pocket PC version. Again, Microsoft suggests using a cash account to do this. This was not a practical solution. I'd...

I upgraded from MS Money 2003 to 2004. Every time I try to enter data the program freezes. When I close and reopen the prog the data is there. I've repaired the thing 3-4 times. Any ideas? Certainly don't want to go thru MS famous customer service. (Been there, done that...) ...

Money 2008
I wanted to know anyone knew when money 2008 would be coming out. I am trying out money 2007 and will expire in August. I am debating on whether to purchase money 2007 or wait until money 2008 gets released Thank You Anybody who "knows" can't say. That having been said, things have been pretty quiet on that front. Time will tell. I wouldn't count on one by August, but it is possible.
