dummy.xml mk:@MSITSTORE

When I log into MS Money (2004) I get a popup asking if I want to open or
save this file: dummy.xml for: mk:@MSITSTORE ... I've never seen this
message before. If I cancel the request it comes back when I open Money
again. It wont allow me to open it and I am concerned about saving the file
since I dont know what it is. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I am recieveing the same message everytime I open money. It seems wrong and I
know that xml files are for transporting a money file through the internet.
So it seems like a scam. You woulkd think microsoft would have some info on
this subject. I tried to locate and delete the file but it cannot be found.
Does anybody kno anything about this file.

That does not seem to be a common occurrence in Money. That could be
related to Windows Help system. The "..." would maybe be some *.chm
file in that case.

Windows 98? Up to date with updates? Using Norton?

In looking around, I see in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905215/en-us, that mk:@MSITSTORE is
considered a 'trusted protocol'. I don't know the implications of
that.

Reading XML from a Windows service
Using the function below, I'm importing configuration parameters, from an xml file, into a Windows service. This code works as expected in a regular Windows application, but when used in a Windows service (written in vb.net), it produces unintended side effects. The most notable being multiple (and simultaneous) firings of timer events. Is there a better way? Thank you. XML Performance Issues post patch
We have a web application making use of the SignedXML and X509Certificate2 classes. The server is running Windows Server 2008 Standard. Since the December patches were installed - my guess is either KB973688 (Update for MSXML Core Services 4.0 SP2) or KB948465 (Windows Server 2008 SP2) - performance has plumeted. Digging into the cause, the SignedXML.ComputeSignature() method and assigning a private key to the SigningKey each take 10-15 seconds to execute, all other operations execute in fractions of a second. Google implies that I may be alone on this, but I'd like to kn...

Easy XML ?
I have never used XML but I use VC6 all the time. For the first time I need to read and write a few values in a XML file. What is the preferred easy way/library to do this? (I use VC6/MFC but can upgrade to 2005 if that helps) Best regards from Petter Hi, I have used VC6 to code a MFC application that reads and writes to XML files. The free C++ XML library that I used was TinyXML. I prefer it over other heavy weight C and C++ XML parsers. :) You might want to check out TinyXML at: http://www.grinninglizard.com/tinyxml/ Best Regards, Yeoh -- http://www.yeohhs.com I haven't used i...

Appropriate DOCTYPE for XML Formatting Rules
Hi All, I have what is quite possibly a stupid question about XML formatting and DOCTYPE declarations. I am using FrontPage 2003 to apply XML formatting rules to my web pages by right clicking in the code view and selecting "Apply XML Formatting Rules". Using the command made changes similar to the following: Original Line: <img src="my_image.gif" width="35" height="9" alt="alt_text"> New Line (the only difference is the forward-slash at the end): <img src="my_image.gif" width="35" height="9" alt="...

Vista for dummies
What I mean is: Vista IS for dummies. Examples: 1. Attach a device to a USB port and the hardware wizard does not give you a choice as to the location of the drivers, as XP did. It decides where to search and if it doesn't find them it simply fails. It gets worse: if you unplug and re-plug the device, nothing happens (even after a re-boot). This is because when it failed to find drivers it placed the device in the devices list as a failed device, so next time it sees that it's already tried and failed so it takes no action. Now, did it occur to Vista's designers tha...

Bug in Xml.XmlElement?
Hi gents, can you please confirm this behavior? [xml]$X = "<sms_package><tag/></sms_package>" $X.sms_package.name Having a look at Get-Member, XmlElement DOESN'T contain property called name. Having a look at XmlElement.psbase, it contains property Name, I am however curious why it returns it even when psbase is not used :( This just broke my code suddenly, any help is highly appreciated. Validating XML with XSD's

dummy alert
i have this formula =SUM(E3:E11/B3:B11), i want to divide the sum of the E column by the sum of the B column but am obviously missing something that will seem hideously obvious when pointed out thanks Micayla, Nice name. =Sum(E3:E11)/Sum(B3:B11) would work if you are looking for a single output of the one column sum divided by the other. OTOH if you want to divide each row and then sum the results, you could put =E3/B3 in the C3 cell and copy down. Then sum the numbers in Column C. If you are doing the latter, you can do it in one formula that looks like the one you made, but when you bu...

XML DataSet Deployment
Let me ask one more time! If you have an application that uses a DataSet (System.Data) but the dataset is only loaded with XML data. Do you need to deploy MDAC with your application? Trey No - DataSet is totally disconnected and can work without any back-end server connection. You can persist DataSet in XML files (and load it afterwards in) without even touching the database. XML Serialization #6
Hello I am trying to serialize some data to an XML-file and most of it works fine. But I do have a problem with to elements. Below is some of the code generated with XSD.exe attached. My problem is the two elements EventReasonEquipment and EventReasonWeather. In the generated XML-file I only want one of the two elements listed, so if a value is assigned to EventReasonEquipment, then EventReasonEquipment should not be in the current structure of the XML-file. Later in the file it is possible the opposite. If I dont assign any values to the element in the code, then is the element create...
