Can't start Money: Error on file "mnyob99.dll"

My OS is WinXP Home Ed. I just bought Money 2004
Standard. After installation, I tried to start the
application but an error occured and shut it down.

Error Msg:
AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 12.0.0.613
ModName: mnyob99.dll ModVer: 12.0.0.613 Offset: 000dc6e5

Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Thanks.

Money 2004 crash in mnyob99.dll with new file
I just upgraded to money 2004. Whenever I created a new file (via File->New File), money crashes and the system (XP) reported the fault was in mnyob99.dll. This means that I won't be able to create any new money file at all. I also followed some earlier message by opening the sample money file, it works, but then it still crashed when I tried to create a new file. I searched suport.microsoft.com and did not find anything that would solve the problem. Please help. Thanks. (Thanks, Bonnie!) I'm hoping that I can get more suggestions as to how to resolve this issue. Thanks. Money freezes up with subject message and closes. What can I do to correct the problem? With an IPF like that, first thing to try is to remove and reinstall Money to a new folder. It could also be file corruption, but hopefully not. "Betty" <betty937@juno.com> wrote in message news:0f5d01c344ef$ab9b2590$a001280a@phx.gbl... > Money freezes up with subject message and closes.
