Full screen mode for just the document?
Is there any way to detach the document pane from the rest of the Word
window and size it independently?
My screen is landscape (wider than tall) and most of my document are
portrait. With Word 2003, I was able to detach most of the toolbars
and either let them float or attach them to the sides to free up
vertical real estate.
In XP, the toolbars are replaced by the ribbon, which takes up even
more vertical space. I know that I can minimize the ribbon (Ctrl+F1),
but I don't believe I can detach it.

Word Count for Section in W2007?
Does anyone know a way to display the word count of a chapter or
section? I'm currently displaying the word count in the status bar,
selecting the section and recording the words manually.
I've found NUMWORDS, but would like to use several of these in the
same document with each one counting the words in a single section.

If I am at the bottom of a word document, and I want to scroll to the top of
the top, the scroll bar is gone in my new version of Word. How do I add a
scroll bar to Word? If it is not possible, how do you go from, say page 25

everything I've found so far wants money for a book or lessons, or

Fillable Form
Using Word 2003. I'm trying to make a fillable authorization form for our
website so volunteers can type in it at their own computer, save it and
attach to an e-mail and send in for an authorized signature. I have tried
making a form to put on the website, but the grey fillable area did not
expand when I tested it. The area only would only the number of characters
that Word allowed and did not "grow" to include more letters for an
explanation or even a name. Could you please help me so that the fillable
area expands? Is there anything else I should know when posting a form o

Use jpg as border - Word 2007
Hi - I have a specific jpg that I wish to use as a border on a Word 2007
document. This jpg will be 3/4 point, and will border the entire document
with multiple copies of the picture. In other words, the picture will be
copied around the entire border of the document.
I looked in Word 2007 'Help' but could not find the info on how to do this,
if indeed it is possible.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Posting word file as ectension by Tbird
My default mail client is Mozilla Thunderbird.
If I attempt to send a file from Word (2007) as attachment T'bird just
opens with no new email with attachment window. It works fine with Wordpad
and Publisher. Is there a known problem with Word/Thunderbird?
I have tried T'bird in Safe Mode to exclude extension problems.
It works OK with Outlook and Seamonkey, but then they are not my mail
clients.

Win XP, Word 2003
I exported a field in FileMaker Pro. It is a repeating field with two dates
in one field. I thought I could import the field into Word and find the
marker that separates one date from the next and do a Replace All and put a
Tab between the two dates and then put the dates into two different fields,
the way they belong. I have the field in Word and there is a small
rectangle between the dates. So far nothing I have used as a Find has
"found" it, except for White Space (^w), but when I do a find ^w and replace
^t, Word replaces thousands of the occurences bu

adobe reader
I have just bought a new camera and the instructions are printed (on screen)
in Adobe Reader; there are 104 pages.
I wish to copy the pages I need in to a word document and then modify and
print what I want.
Is there any way I can use Word 2007 to do this?
I remember reading that Word has an OCR capability but do not know if this
would work from the Adobe Reader screen.

How do you move an inserted picture in word 07
I have inserted a pic into my document but when I try to move it it doesn't
go where I put it. It goes just above or below etc. I have turned off the
snap to grid feature but still can't move stuff to where I want. How can I

How do I undo the paragraph marks after each line?
I was updating my resume and references. I copied and paste my references to
the bottome of my resume. Everything was going okay, then I don't know what
I might have pressed, but every line has a paragraph symbol and the right
arrow. I need to undo this mistake and don't know how.

Showing current paragraph style (Word 20007)
As a longtime user of Word, I'm used to seeing the paragraph style displayed
at the top of the window. My office has switched to Word 2007 (just in time
for Word 2010 to be released!). The current paragraph style no longer seems
to be displayed, but only shows if I pull down the style list, and then I
have to scroll until I see the highlight. Is there an easier way to make it
show?

Iwould like to know what means "Word did not find any entries for your table
of contents.
In your document, select the words to include in the table of contents, and
then in the Formatting Palette under Styles, click a heading style. Repeat
for each heading that you want to include, and then insert the table of
contents in your document. You can also create a table of contents by
clicking the Create with Manual Formatting option and then type the entries
manually." I tried to do all that guided above. Unfortunately no results.

linking Excel 2007 worksheet to Word 007 file
Does anyone know why a border would show up around the excel worksheet linked
to Word? I've checked the settings in excel to see that there are no
borders. Also, when I initially link the excel file, everything looks fine
but if I refresh it once or twice, a border (ie box) shows up around the
linked worksheet.

Opening revision mode when selection is locked?
Was sent my manuscript text by the publisher to revise, but my program is in
Read-only compatability mode. Can't access Revision Mode. "Selection is
locked." Updated to Microsoft Office, but still can't access. Am hanging 300

Print Document as .tif missing Word 2007
Hi - I am using Word 2007 which is part of Office 2007 Professional. I had
been using Office 2007 Pro on XP SP3. When I wanted to print a document, I
had the option of printing it as an image (.tif) in the printer options.
Please note that this option was in the printer options and not in the Word
2007 printing options.
I am now using Windows 7 Professional (32 bit), and I no longer have the
'print as .tif' option in Word 2007.
Question: I do I enable this option?

Hi
I am running Windows XP and have just installed WORD 2007. Can someone
please tell me how I stop the parser auto-completing dates for me?
I like to write 29th May, 2010 - but as soon as I type that and hit <ENTER>
I get 2010-05-29 on the end.

I understand that many, if not all of these Office newgroups may be
disappearing forever on June 1. I have posted to many of the groups and
lurked on almost all of them. The services provided by the MVP's has been
outstanding, to say the least.

Irregular behavior of CTRL (left) key in kbd shortcuts
With my old keyboard I had an annoying problem:
sometimes (more often than not) an keyboard shortcut did not work.
I often use the following shortcuts (among others):
CONTROL-x, . = � ('Greek full stop')
CONTROL-x, > = (arrow right, Symbol font)
The keyboard as it were did not take notice of the CONTROL-x and
produced a full stop and greater than character instead.
Because my keyboard dated from te early bronze age, I replaced it with
a new keyboard, a Microsoft Comfort Curve keyboard with which I am
generally very pleased. But now this new keyboard shows the very same
misbeha

Keyboard shortcuts
When I am editing a table, I'd like to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to
bring up the context menu and then select Insert/Insert rows after. I can't
find anything in the extensive Help article about keyboard shortcuts
describing how to bring up the context menu, i.e. simulate a right-click,
with keyboard shortcuts.
Can anyone help me out?

Keep with Next and Figure
Word 2007: I am trying to keep figures and their captions on the same
page. When I set the style for figures to use Keep With Next, the
figures slide up BEHIND the previous paragraph instead of starting a
new page as necessary.
Is there any way to correct?

Background Lines ??
Somehow I now have a lined background on all my Word documents. When I

Custom Table Styles
I am attempting to create a table style that would work across 30 or 40
templates. I am using the Contemporary Table style as a base in Word 2007.
Unfortunately, several aspects of the table I've designed are not working,
the main one being the banding of color of every other row.
I am able to set up the custom table, and reformat each table to that style,
but the banding is not consist. In one case, I recreated the style with a
different name, and it disappeared.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Also, on the ribbon, I cannot check off the checkbox called band
