When typing a document a window pops up with a list of optiions, such as
copy, paste, font. This window comes with a loud beep that comes right
through my ear buds - very disconcerting. How can I get rid of this beep or
this popup window.

Hi Marni,
Maybe you should try checking for the default sounds on your control panel
in Windows. Maybe that can solve the problem. Does it usually happen just
with Word or more programs?

In particular, see if an Accessibility option has been enabled.
