Common Bug - black lines around inserted image after saving. solut

Hi, Im running word 2007 on windows 7 ultimate. When an image is inserted into a document and is larger than the current page it is automatically reduced in size to fit the page. Save the document, close it, reopen it and there will be unwanted black lines on the top and left hand edge of the image (like a black border on those sides). I think it is the auto resizing that causes it. Hi again I found a 'work around'. If I crop the image slightly, within Word, the lines on the top and left of the graphic disappear - even after a save! Also, I notice that the lines only occurred on graphics within tables. The same graphic on a blank page (no table), did not have the lines on the top and left. My lines occur on objects inserted outside tables also on a brand new blank document. This is a really annoying bug. I found a solution! Save the document as .doc and not as .docX. Then you do'nt have those terrible unwanted lines after you saved the document. If you already have the lines, re-insert the picture first before you save it as a .doc. hope this works for everyone! And spread the word, apparantly many people have that problem

In order to keep doc files to a minimum size, I always edit graphics to size and resolution in an external graphics editor before Inserting them into Word. My favourite graphics engine is IrfanView: it is a quick free download and is very lightweight using few resources. It supports conversion between over 100 formats too. Word is a word processor that tries to do too much because customers demand it.
