I am using Word 2007 on XP and when I exit from Word the winword.exe process
remains open. I don't have any other office application open. The winword.exe

How can I fix this error?

MS Word Footer Misalignment
Hi all, this has been driving me nuts for quite some time: for some
reason, the footer area in my MS word documents (new, template, or old
(including created on another computer/OS) is misaligned. The footer
area (as indicated by the dotted line) is the right size, but it's
positioned at the very bottom of the page (without the small area
reserved for the unprintable area of the page). This leaves an
unusable area between the end of the main body text (which, as
expected, ends 7.5 in. from the top of the page) and the top of the
footer area. Depending on the printer, the footer may be

I don't suppose just reinstalling and choosing to "repair" would solve this?

When I look at it, the spell check suggests spanish spelling of the words.
The spell checker says Spanish, US. I go back, all setting say English.

The path where you are trying to save this document is unavailable
I recently converted a PDF file to a word document (rtf) with an online
software. This conversion was successful and the document looks fine. However
when I make any change to the document and try to save it I get the error:
"The network or path where you are trying to save this document is
unavailable. What do you want to do?"
Which prompts me with three buttons "Retry, Save As..., Cancel".
This is confusing to me since I am saving it on my Desktop. I have noticed,
if I take out the pages that contain some graphs and tables, it saves it
perfectly.
Can anyone help me out?

Word 2007 "File error has occurred" - cannot save docx
Hello!
I am working on Word 2007 on Windows Vista and I have all of the latest
updates.
I have a 37-page document that has text and images. I have already
formatted the entire document and I am running through my final edit on it.
I got to page 17, tried to save, and it tells me, "A file error has occured."
No matter what I do (rename it, save it in another location, etc.), the file
will not save as a docx file. I am able to save it as a 2003 document;
however, I cannot keep the file this way as it messes up my formatting and it
needs to be a docx file for my client. O

If a Word document has no structure, keep the document map blank.
I consider this to be a serious application error. If the user has not
explicitly added semantic structure to at least one paragraph in a document,
Word guesses. It decides, in a rather inconsistent way, that some of the

confusing, not helpful, and generally bad.
In one document I use to demonstrate how the document map works (and fails),
Word invariably decides that the first line in an address is body text, but

On one particular machine we are having a problem with editing a word
document (only 118kb in size, mainly text with the school logo at the top).
When the document is opened the member of staff starts to edit it and all of

You are working without a word work file and memory is nearly full. Save
your work.
I've googled and found an article about making a registry change

I suddenly find existing documents distorted by all the text being jammed

COnflict with Dragon Naturally Speaking
Dragon installed without a problem and worked inconsistently with Word for a
couple months. Sometimes it works very well, with a chance of becoming
indispensable. However, then Word would crash when Dragon was open but not
otherwise. I have seen others reference a similar problem, but no answers
have been provided. Some have uninstalled Word and Dragon without benefit.
Any suggestions?
