Is there any way to set identically high resolution on external+internal LCD
on this HPlaptop? I've NEVER tried an external, but today tried family LCD
HDTV and instantly my laptop's own smaller display was also screw*ed up -
resolution lowered from 1440x900 down to match that of externalLCDTV which
is maximum of 1280x1024 or less.
You might say so what? Well all the windows I had opened & unsuspectingly
worked on external oversized display, amazing my parents with photos & news
they've never seen before at such size, all those were distorted when I
disabled external and went back to my laptop - sizes/locations.
OK I restored all, but the cause is obvious - whenever external display is
enabled, it "drags down" laptop's own display also because even a powerful
Graphics card can't keep up feeding 1440x900 resoltuion to both external &
internal, it just selects "lowest common denominator" which is 1280x1024.
I wonder if it's possible to "insulate" 2 displays so each one displays at
own resoltuion, not equalizing both to some common low value?
If internal can show 1440 let it stay at 1440, but external can go as low as
it wants to, but no - they just follow each other!
Maybe there's a workaround not involving a dual-ouput Grahpics card which is
RARE on laptops?
