Rollback Media Player 12 to 11 on Win 7

Is it possible to rollback media player 12 to 11? On Windows 7, MP 12 does not recognize my portable CDrom player and does not show a Rip tab at all. MP 11 did all that without a problem. Thank you for your help.

Question about clb.dll error

I was trying to access regedit and I got an error message that there is something wrong with clb.dll. Most of the 'fixes' say that I need to go back to a restore point before I installed 'the' program that caused the problem. Well, since I have no idea when this started, I'm not going to try to go back to a restore point. I did read that you can copy the dll file from another computer and replace the one that's not working. Is the clb.dll from XP going to work in Vista? I have to communicate from my PC (Windows Vista) with a device that runs Windows XP, has no keybord and disply. Problem is that I don't know its ip address. Hi. I was using Windows XP on my desktop before. There was some changes I had to make with the hardware. I am currently on my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit. I plan on installing XP or Windows 7 hopefully this weekend. But since it may take longer than expected: I do have certain files I transfered from my old hard-drive in an external hard-drive enclosure through my laptop onto an external hard-drive. I was wondering if I edit the files, the rtf files (rich text files) or the mp3 metadata for instance: Will it be a problem when those files get re-introduced into a 32-bit

No icons

I have windows Vista on my laptop. I didn't like Windows Defender running so I typed "msconfig" and unchecked that block. When the computer restarted it kept telling me it can't find Windows Explorer so I shut down the computer completely. When I turned it back on I have not icons, no task bar. Can't Install WinVista Service Pack 1...

On a Windows Vista Ultimate machine, when trying to install Windows Vista sp 1 from a CD one of the following two errors occur: 1) The machine says that it must be rebooted to continue with the install. Why does it take so long for Vista to join a domain? I have a vista pro machine. Locally everything works fine local user signs on builds the desktop quickly. From the local profile I join a domain. It finds the domain quickly, then asks to reboot.. I reboot sign on as the admin of the domain.. Next step is to build the desktop for the user I'm signing on as.. Win 7 HDMI and poor text clarity

I am not sure if this would be considered a hardware or software issue so I will double post. Please forgive me. I am using a 19" HD flat panel TV as an external monitor for my laptop (Win 7). Text was crisp and clear with the RGB connection but when I switched to HDMI (to get the audio also) the text got pretty blurry (graphics are still pretty good). I've tried adjusting the resolution, the Clear Type text, and the Smaller 100% and Medium 125% settings but nothing seems to help. I've also tried various adjustments on the TV to no avail. Bright and washed out looking Office documents inc IE

Hi, my Office docs, inc Outlook and even the pages on IE have suddenly appeared washed out and a lot brighter. It is making my eyes strain and the blue wording you often see on IE pages such as on forums, is faint now, at least the small words that are often to the side of boxes etc. I did a system restore and that came back as successful but there was no change to the bright pages, they are still bright and washed out. Power Options

I have an HP laptop using Vista SP-2. Until recently, the power settings worked the way I set them (especially shutting off the display after 15 minutes of idle time). Now, this particular setting doesn't work (the display stays on all the time). I haven't checked the other settings yet. Tried Google but couldn't find anything that applied. Who makes a really good disk defragmenter at reasonable cost. I used Vista's. It ran for more than 4 hours and never finished. My used disk space increased from 251 GB to 268 GB.

Vista's Contacts not working

Hi, I tried using a tweak to move my "user files" folder's to "my documents" folder left from the XP OS which was on another partition on my hard drive, it didn't work well so I reversed everything. Now every time I click on "contacts", the "my documents" folder opens up which now shows as a shortcut in my Vista's "user files". My Contacts folder (which is empty) is still in the "user files" folder. However, I cannot open Contacts by a shortcut or within the Windows mail. One of the small networks I manage had a Win2k DC that crashed. We replaced it with a 2008 SBS & since most of the clients were XP, I was able to join computers to the new domain & copy the profiles from the old location to the new location. That was until I got to the Vista laptop. On this computer, the profile shows as 'Unknown' & the 'copy to' option is grayed out. I am currently copying the contents of the C:\Users\username folder to the C:\Users\user.newdomain folder. Will this be all I need? Is there an easier way?
