SBS 2003 Best Practices Analyzer problem
I downloaded and installed the SBS 2003 Best Practices analyzer on a SBS
2003 R2 server and when I launch the program I receive this error:
---------------------------
SBSBPA.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
---------------------------
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x3e0 (992), Thread id=0x20fc (8444).
Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.
Anyone have any ideas?????

done that 4x, and also D/L from different sources just to make sure that the
source was not the issue.

In the Application Event Log, can you post the text of the error that's
associated with this event.

Unfortunately, there is no entry in any of the event logs when this error is
encountered.
The on screen error appears within a second or two of launching the BPA
application.

In Add/Remove Programs, what versions of .Net do you have installed?
You might also try disabling any 3rd party apps (like antivirus software)
before you run the BPA.
And/or maybe try rebooting into in Safe Mode and running the BPA.

Dotnet 1.1 is part of the OS (SBS2003R2) so it does not show on the add
remove programs list, but the others there are Dotnet 2.0 sp2, Dotnet 3.0sp2
and Dotnet 3.5 sp1. There is also a listing for Dotnet 1.1 device update 4.
I've tried it with AV disabled with no luck. I'll try in safe mode the next
time I'm able to schedule a reboot - within the next few days, I hope.
Thanks for your help. :)

I was able to get the debugger working by installing dot net framework SDK
V1.1 and the debugger shows the following:

I'm thinking that the problem is probably in the .Net 1.1 or .Net 2.0 that
are installed on the Server, but where to go from here????
