Hi,
I've been trying to read about these features as we're soon to migrate
oour 60 users to new win2008r2 servers.
Currently with w2003r2 the users are set to roaming profiles and login
times varies from acceptable to totally unacceptable :-) In addidion
their home folders are '..Made available Offline'.
I consider using redirected folders for all user data which need to be
backed up when moving everything over to the new servers. How ever I'm
not sure that I completely understand the concept of redirected folders
compared to roaming profiles together with offline files for the home
folders.
During the migration I plan to automatically copy the users' home folder
contents to the new redirected My Documents folders. Also I plan to
redirect the Favorites, Desktop and Application Data folders.
In the above scenario, will the users automatically have their personal
data available when connected at work and also when they are offline at
home? If not, do I still need to use the 'Offline files' feature (I
hope not).
Please enlighten me :-)

Thanks Ace,
I hoped to get rid of Offline Files in the process. Any better
alternative to sync home folders to local notebook disks...?
I'll probably go for redirecting my documents only, but would also like
to redirect Internet favorites. However I understand that it is not on
the list of 'preferred' redirecting candidates...
The new scenario will be w2008r2 domain controllers / file servers and
win7pro clients. Any *new possibilities* not covered in your blog as of
syncing home folders / redirection / DFS with these OSes?
