after several tries at what might be the problem, Media Center displays
message that some components are missing after the IE8 install
returning to earlierversion of IE resolves problem
currently using IE6 cuz I felt IE7 sucked

What version of MC?
What problems were you having in MC that removing IE8 fixed?
