Sending email to multiple parties

  • Follow

Dear Everybody,

For business purposes, I would like to have a mailing list of clients I can
send an email to without showing all the addresses. I think it's called a
mailing list.

How do I assemble a list of clients I want to send emails to at once without
showing a gigantic list of addresses?

I hope I described my problem correctly, and thank you in advance for your
assistance.

Sincerely,
Steve

There are two separate aspects to this question.

1. Creation of the Mailing List

Run WLMail and open the Contacts window.
Ensure the names and email addresses of all your clients are in
the list of Contacts. Add any missing names.
Create a new contact named "Distribution List". Use your own
email address for this contact.
Then, create a new "Category" for the mailing list. Give a
suitable name to the new "Category".
Add the names of your individual clients to the "Category.
(If you have a lot of clients and your ISP restricts the number
of recipients for each email message, you might need to create
several Categories - with a smaller number of names in each
category.)

2. Sending the emails.

Create the new email message.
Against the 'To:' field, enter 'Distribution list'. (That will
send the email to yourself.)
Against the 'Bcc:' (blind contacts) field, enter the name of the
"Category" that contains your list of clients.
Send the email.
If you have sub-divided a long list of contacts into several
'Categories', send separate emails to each 'Category'.

You will receive one copy.

Each of your clients will receive the email, addressed to
"Distribution List". However, individual clients will not see
the names or email addresses of any other clients.
