How can I retrieve mail that was accidentally deleted before it could be read?

Open the "Deleted Items" folder under the affected account.

If it is(was) a Hotmail type account(Hotmail.com, Live.com, Msn.com) using Pop3  and the message is not in your account Deleted 
Items folder...go to mail.live.com and look in the web Deleted folder.
