Posts still do not appear

I have removed email and newsgroups scanning by Avast to try to correct the problem that my posts cannot be seen on the Ng. Some can be seen on google groups and some cannot. Some can be seen in the "Sent Items" folder and some cannot. Now posting from google groups so I can see all my posts and responses. Need help badly. I am about completely cut off on the NGs. Emails seem to be OK. TIA --

Problem sending BCC's

I'm a photographer and I have lead emails that I can cut and paste from an excel program and just paste it into BCC so I can mass mail brides, and it loads them all with no problems. But now that I've switched to Windows 7 mail I can't do it. It acts weird and won't load the email addresses in BCC. The names are there when I paste them in, but it won't send. It says the name isn't in the contact. How can I get around this? thanks!

How to delete messages from server after download

Hi, I have both MS Outlook and WLM on my Windows 7 computer. After downloading my emails with WLM from my ISP which is Cox, if I open up Outlook it downloads the same emails. I looked in Tools-Options in WLM, but can't find or don't see the option to "delete messages from server after downloading. Kindly help with this matter. Thanks in advance.

Date on Printed Messages

Ever since we upgraded to Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 whenever anyone prints a message the current date and time gets stamped on the printout instead of the oringinal date and time the message arrived. How can this be changed. -- SGBRMH

How do I subscribe/import to external published/shared calendar?

Vista's Calendar could do this, but I can't see such an option in WMLD. since I'm on Windows 7, which doesn't have Calendar application (besides WMLD's), then should I go for Mozilla's Sunbird?

Virus alerts about NG posts

An interesting situation cropped up in one of the Answers forums: while downloading posts, Avast! started issuing repeated warnings about a worm. I stopped the download (I have Stop on my toolbar) and then went to see what was happening. I'd like to expand upon an earlier thread (which will have scrolled off your screen by now). Messages I post to usenet newsgroups using WLM are sometimes not appearing when I view the thread. This problem is intermittent: most of my posts show up, but some don't. Outbox not sending

It seems like when I create a new email and press send it goes to my outbox and sits there for quite a long time. It use to send right away. If I go to sync it doesn't get rid of it. I have been shutting Live down and then opening it back up so it gets sent right away.

Where are my contacts?

I've relatively recently migrated from OE to WLM, but I managed to transfer my contacts & the various distribution lists containing contacts as categories, and have been using them for a few weeks. Since I restarted my machine today, when I go into WLM I can see less than half my contacts. There used to be over 3000 contacts, and my C:/Users/my_user_name/Contacts folder still shows 3295 *.contacts files, but in WLM when I go to Contacts it shows only 1503 contacts, and most of the categories are empty. Contact listing

I have my contacts listed by Last Name. But I find that if I enter a Nickname in the Nickname area that name becomes listed alphabetically by his Nickname. Is there a way to change that? I deleted the nickname from that area and placed in somewhere else.

Sending messages

Is there a way to change the default when sending messages. I'd rather see the email address in the To box rather than just the contacts name. I'm new to Windows 7 and Windows Live. Number of E-Mails - Limit ?

Hi, is there any limit on the number of E-Mails ? I created an archive of 270000 E-Mails (IMAP) and it caused trouble. Can I have that amount in a local folder ? Are there any recommended number ? It locked that 50000 starts being a problem on IMAP already. How else would you handle an archive that you need frequently ? Thanks for your help Stephan

FOLDERS

How do I create an additional main folder other than feeds and the email accounts? On another operating system, I imported my OE folders and they all lined up into "STORAGE FOLDERS". This Storage Folders was not a sub folder of any other folders. It was world to itself. This WLM that I am using, I cannot created a separate group of folders called Storage Folders. I have a dual boot system. All of my personal stuff in another drive and that is the one that OE was imported into. quick views

after being ok for a week after windows 7 pro 64 bit new install, then installing wlm, my quick views now shows nothing (even all email). have followed advice of another post (several times) to no avail, still nothing shows up. advice was:"To rebuild the Quick Views from scratch, you should delete the registry value 'SearchFolderVersion' under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\. Where in the world are the newsgroup sent item folders or how do you add the feature? I want to confirm when I have actually sent stuff - b/c I have some posts that arent acutally posting, which is not cool. :(

why am i receiving 2/3/4 messages

Every time i receive a message on my e-mail account they seem to come through 3/4/5 times!! Why is this??? Is there a setting to change this?

Regaining mail composed on previous PC

I have just changed my PC and when I opened Windows live mail for the first time on the new PC, I re-created the old extra two e-mail accounts I had on the old machine, in addittion to my Hotmail account and the account I had been using the most has come up as empty. i.e It hasn't kept all my previous messages, but, 2nd the extra account has kept all. In outlook i have used different stationaries for the background of my mail. But in WLM it shows the names but when I select one it will not appear on preview and will not be added in the mail. I have picked a staionary out of the options provided, but when i come to send a new email it comes up as unable to create stationary. I can exit out of it then it works, but i send the email out it comes up on the other end with no body that I typed Can anybody help me there.

New Message Window

WLM version 14.0.8089.0726. ( Win 7 Starter ) Just installed it on my netbook and it's running nicely , except that each new message window is maximized. If I restore down , it resizes correctly , but I can't set it to the preferred size and have it re open that way ? Download several email accounts to a single Inbox?

In Outlook Express, I could download several email accounts into a single Inbox. Can I do this (and, if I can, how) in Widows Live mail? When I added accounts in Windows Live mail, it set up a separate Inbox (and other standard folders) for each account. How to Move WLM Storage Folders to NAS (under Vista and WLM 14)

Question : How can I move my WLM storage folders to a NAS device? I have tried the Moving the store to the NAS from within WLM, and whilst this has physically moved the files (and updated the Reg entry to point to the new location), when I restart WLM, it presents the error - "Windows Live Mail could not be started. Display errors in "Sent" folder

W7HP64 Twice in the last couple of days I have got an anomalous display in the "Sent items" folder in "Storage folders" for a newsgroup posting. In the Sent Items folder I have the columns "To", "Subject", "Sent", and "Account" showing. These have always been correct, but a couple of postings (to two completely separate newsgroups using different news servers) show my return email address in the "To" column, and nothing at all in the "Account" column. Hotmail to Live Mail

I am on Windows 7 and IE 8. I have a hotmail account, but cannot switch over to the Live View. Live View Mail opens when I use PICASA, but I can find nowhere in the hotmail options or IE toolbar to configure the Windows Live Mail as the defult email window.

Transferring emails to Live Mail

I transferred all of my old emails to my new computer using the Easy Transfer program. It looks as if they are in the Storage Folder-they show up as a list, but the emails themselves will not open. I get an error message when I click on the email to open it. What is going on? Thanks.

Adding contacts on additional computer

Have been using WLM for a couple of years now on main computer. Bought an additional laptop and have loaded WLM. (main computer has Win 7, new notebook has XP). Can add contacts on new notebook but when I exit WLM and relaunch, contacts have vanished. I suspect I must have to replicate the two but don't know how. -- Seamus

Some Contacts List messages going into Junk Mail folder

My wife and I use the same computer, and we have our separate email addresses set up in WLM. We also share the Contacts folder. Starting about a month or two ago, many of the messages from my wife's friends, who are in our Contacts folder, have been going repeatedly into her Junk Mail folder. Even clicking of the Not Junk option has failed to stem this flow. I have not had this experience with my email messages. What might we be missing in our setup? Gordon Biggar

Windows Live Alerts > Junk Mail?

This is almost too funny... I receive daily alerts from my Windows Live Calendar... but they all end up in my Windows Live Mail junk folder. I've white-listed "alerts@live.com" to "Safe Senders" and checked the "Blocked Senders" list... but I can't seem to stop these messages from hitting the junk folder. Any suggestions?

cannot delete some messages

I sent one message to an incorrect email address. That message is no longer in the outbox or anywhere to be found, but every time I turn on Windows Live, I get an error message about that one email. problem with windows live mail desktop and messenger crashing

Greetings all, For the past month or so I've been having problems with live mail and messenger crashing. Live mail will usually crash following my authenticating the first time, though most of the time I will be able to successfully sign in without it crashing if I launch it from Live messenger. Gmail and lost deleted emails

I know this has been asked before but I could not find a solution so felt I should raise this issue myself. I have several email accounts in Windows Live Mail, including pos and imap accounts. If I delete an email in most of these, they are retrievable in the appropriate Deleted Items folder. However, my Gmail account is different. These appear to be deleted permanently (not in the Deleted Items/Bin folder). If I delete online at Gmail.com, they go to the Bin folder and appear there in windows Live Mail. Any ideas why this is? It means I am worried about delting gmail emails

Window mail will not recognise an association for pps type file

Could someone helps please ? When i receive a mail containing pps files, I need to save to disk all pps file in order to view them with microsoft viewer, because i get an error message saying to set the association in default program. The association is already done with the viewer. This problem is only happening with window mail. It does not seem to be able to download the file in a temps file and then open it as my hotmail account does. tks G L

emails not saved in 'sent items' folder.

When I send emails no copy is saved in the 'sent items' folder, even though that option is ticked. Also the 'junk' button and 'mark as junk mail' option do nothing - I expected the item be moved to the junk folder or acknowledged that it had been marked as junk, but nothing happens. Also clicking the 'move to junk mail folder' disappears it from the list, but it doesn't appear in the junk folder. Any one tell me what's going on here?

No message rules?

I just switched from Outlook express (which I really like) to Windows live mail. It did a very good job of finding my old contacts and messages, but I don't see my rules. I used to route incoming messages to specific folders based on sender or message title. I can't find the corresponding feature in Windows live mail. Am I just not looking in the right places or does Live mail just not offer the equivalent feature?? ED

Downloaded documents - please help!

Yesterday I opened a document from mail by just 'clicking' it open (as in, I didn't 'save as'). I worked on it all day and kept saving it, presuming it was in my downloads folder. Today I went to look for it and it wasn't there, and i've checked and when it says when you open without saving 'as' the document doesn't save. I'm just wondering if there's anywhere, as i saved it and it didn't prompt me to choose a location, that it could be? This would save me hours and hours of work, so i'd be really grateful if anyone could help me. I won't be so stupid in the future... xx

Junk mail that is not junk mail

Windows 7, Live Mail v2009, suddenly is putting everything from one of my contacts in junk mail folder. Put contact in safe senders list, had no effect on situation. Appears to be no way to simply TURN OFF junk mail detection. How can I tell Live Mail to stop making decisions for me?

Transfer client to client

I have various IMAP Accounts in WLM. All mails are downloaded completely. If I would put the same IMAP Accounts on my notebook (for a planed trip), it would be hours and hours to download all E-Mail. But I need it. Is there a way to copy my accounts over from my Desktop ? Thanks for your help ! Stephan
