Fonts settings issue

Somewhere along the line, I accidentally changed my font setting (I believe this was under Sent/International), so that messages in my Storage Folders/Sent Items now display �?" instead of an em-dash (an extended dash character). How do I change this back and will my stored sent messages revert to their former appearance. Is a reboot necessary, or just reopening WLM. I think the problem lies within my UTF-7/UTF-8/Western European (ISO)/Western European (Windows) setting, though I'm not sure. I am befuddled.

Spell Check Error Messages in Windows Mail

I type fast for speed and trust Spell Check to review messages before sending them. Out of the blue, I started getting "The spell check was halted on this document. Do you want to send anyway?" message. Installed Beta messes up contact categories

I installed the latest WLM Beta. Then, when I insert a contact Category into the To field it appears there but clicking on the + sign it reveals no contacts and the email fails to send because there are no To addresses. I fixed the problem by deleting my contact Categories and rebuilding them

Cant shut off mail send/receive in WLM

I have unticked the box in Tools/Options/General/ send & receive mail so that WLM should not automatically download mail from my servers to the desktop. Unfortunately it still does at extended periods usually around an hour or so. At the moment I am having to close WLM after every download at a time i want. I need to shut this off to allow my spam software to work properly and keep spam deleted at the server and not downloaded to the desktop. I have checked the registry and find under Current User/Software/Microsoft/Windows live Mail/Mail/Poll for Mail as result of 429496729

How to download only mail header

WLM V2009, B. 14.0.8089.0726, german version. Win XP pro, SP3. In Outlook Express there was the possibility to download only the headerlines from a pop-server (Tools > Email-Rules). In Windows Live Mail there is a similar rule, but without the option to download only the header lines in case the mail exceeds e. g. 100 kB. Either it WLM loads it down or not depending on the selected mail size. The disadvantage is: if I get larger emails e. g. with attachments, I have no information about this. Is there a possibility to configure header-downloads only? Gerhard

Bcc missing in Sent Items Folder

I cannot see who I put in the Bcc field in the Sent Items Folder. I have looked at the properties of the specific email and this field is not in there. If I open the email, the View>Cc & Bcc field is grayed out. The PC I have this problem on is using IMAP, I have a laptop using POP and it is not a problem. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

WLM security settings

I have it set up on 3 different computers, and all of them set the same. I can receive on 2 computers and open the attachments. On the 3rd, it tells me the security settings will not allow me to get them. How that be when it is set the same on all and how do I change it? I have tried clearing the 'do not allow attachments' but it makes no difference. Help! I need them on that computer as they are work related. Any help would be much appreciated!! Occasionally when getting mail from my inbox a pop-up will appear in the lower right-hand corner from unwanted/unknown contacts - in that box is the word OPTIONS - highlighted in blue and underlined - do I right-click on OPTIONS to add that unwanted contact to my blocked sender list? Contact List Problem

I imported my XP address book to Live Mail from Explorer. OE was unavailable due to a crash of my old PC. Mixed hebrew-english text messages display

When I receive messages from Windows Live Team containing mixed hebrew-english texts, in many cases english words are displayed from right-to-left, for example "liamtoH", "regnesseM". Memory usage

Hello, In the quest of trying to figure out the lately slow performance of my XP machine, I found that WLmail hogs about 177MB of memory even while doing nothing (CPU usage is zero, except when actively querying the server). Is this normal? Does it have to to with the number of messages I have (quite a bit)? thanks for any insights, Danny

Missing mail from folders

After reading mails , these are stored in Documents under sender's name. Lately these disappear from therein. There is no task schedule to do this, no settings have been changed, there is no trojan. The set up is the same as in Out.Exp. , that never happened there, but in Live mail it does . Any clues anyone ?
