Sending all msgs, but some appear unsent (XP x64) OE is configured to Send Later. When a batch of emails is in the Outbox, and I Send them all, the progress meter counts through them all. All messages get sent. However, OE will only show that 5 or 10 of them went out, and those appear in Sent folder. The remaining emails sit in the Outbox. When I Send, another 5 or 10 or 15 (usually a multiple of 5; not 3,4, or 17, etc.) move to Sent, and if I repeat this they all eventually get moved to Sent. I remember you instructing me to delete certain folders in OE and then upon a restart they would be re-installed by the system. I did that and the problem was solved. Now it seems that my WLM may be corrupt. I do not see my posts from any NG. Have to go to google groups, where I can just see some replies, but never my original posts. Outlook Product Key I'm having trouble activating Microsoft Outlook. It's asking me for the Product Key, which i activated in Office when i got the computer, but i packed the disc/code away when i moved house and therefore don't have the Product Key with me. Red x I know this subject has been discussed before but I haven't found anything that covers my problem. All email I receive from this one person has the red x if there is a picture in it. BUT, all email I get with pictures from others works fine. Before you tell me it's on his end, he also sends it to several other people I know and they say theirs has the picutres and NOT the red x. Outlook 6 will not send messages with web site links? Hi, Please can you help me? I am having problems trying to send a word document (with a web site hyperlink) and the same link in the message body of an email. The word file is my CV and the link relates to my web site where examples of my work can be found (i.e nothing dodgy, im just looking for a new job). The word document has also been converted as pdf with the web site link. Both document links work fine outside of outlook express. OE6 Upgrade Hello: I am using Microsoft's Windows XP (SP3) platform and Outlook Express 6 (OE6) is my main email application. Recently I installed Internet Explorer 8 and so I am wondering if OE6 has a corresponding upgrade to say OE7 or OE8. * Can Outlook Express 6 (OE6) be upgraded to say Outlook Express 7 or 8 ? * If this upgrade is possible; I am interested in how to do it ? * Can Microsoft Outlook client work as a stand alone application or do I need the Server also ? NNTP Timeout I have a problem with my newsserver, the first time I click to open a news OE hangs for 30" and I get this message "NNTP server NNTP did not answer after 30", retry or break?", I hit "break" then I click on the same news and I can read it. The same problem arises after some minutes of inactivity on OE. Summing up I often am forced to stay 30" waiting for OE restarting. My provider says he is not able to reproduce the malfunction and that's all... created a rule in OE to cope with Spam I copied and pasted, either text or words, in an email address from a spam email and now when I write a new email and try to enter my email address in the from window those words I copied and pasted some hours ago appears there. I have copied and pasted other items since then so am wondering why is this email address in text form from the spammers email is appearing. Coincidentally the spammers email address begins with the same letter as my email address begins with,"c". Upgrading to IE 8 - Will I get the horrible favorites list ? I just went to a website that said they don't support IE6 anymore. Assume I'll be getting this answer more and more. If I upgrade from IE 6 to IE8 will I get the terrible favorites view rather than the IE6 I am have. IE8 Favorites drive me nuts when I try to save something in that I have to go though the "whole" list of folders rather than be able to zero in on a specific folder. OE won's send email, insufficient memory Suddenly OE will not send email but gives a "not enough memory" message. My sent mail folder is suddenly empty as well. Also, if I try to move a message into the now empty sent malil folder I get the same message. Other logon IDs on the same computer can still send and receive properly. I am using one of those as a workaround but would like my main userID to work again. System restore did nothing to improve the situation. I cleared inbox and outbox folders, discarded several GB of other files and defragmented with no effect as well. Edited Outbox.dbx file My OS is Windows XP SP3 I did a bad thing and edited the Outbox.dbx and by edit I mean deleted everything in there. Now I cannot send mail. I get a "The message could not be sent. An error occured." I have renamed it old, so it can rebuild, I have tried to restore my Store folder from a saved version on a jump drive. Can't delete Working on a friend's computer. All of a sudden he can't delete anything. If I highlight an email then hit the delete button nothing happens. If I open the message then hit the delete I get a dialog box that says "This message can't be deleted" Any ideas? outlook express fails to initialize Outlook express does not start anymore, I double click on the shortcut, on the file in the outlook express folder in program files and nothing. I try to import the messages in the outlook and it says that wnother program is using the folder, I should close that one and try again, but there is no program using that folder. Blinking screen in OE only I get a blinking screen in OE only, some times for less than a second, sometimes about 2 seconds. It always comes back to where it was whether reading or writing an email, or just having OE open. Never had problem until a few months ago and does not occur with other programs or the internet. Change default sent to program from Windows live mail to OE Hi When a right click on any file while viewing in Explorer and choose Sent to > Mail recipient, the default email program that opens is Live Mail, but i want Outlook Express. More on unreadable attachment I should have mentioned that the attachment had a wps file designation. To open it, I got a message which said that I needed a converter and that I should insert my MS Office XP Standard for Students and Teachers. I did so, and the unreadable attachment was the result. Compacting........or rather not quite.... MS Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435 : service pack 3) copyright 2007 INTERNET EXPLORER Version 7.0.5730.13 Build 75730 I have tried several times over the last couple of months to compact emails in OE. (Usually due to being prompted). Within the box entitled "Compacting" The compacting starts, and zips through the various email folders and then moves onto the newsgroups, (about 8/9 off). Delete Bodies and Compact does not free HD space A family member's XP sp2 box was getting low on space on it's C drive. It was down to 1.64 G free and I noticed that he had 1.2 G of train shots in a rail group. I did a delete bodies and then compacted. The thing took forever as it copied files to somewhere that I did not take note of as I thought it would be a backup that would delete afterward. Use of bcc for group emails I have just taken over as unpaid secretary of a golf club and do most of my work using my home PC. I have distribution list of all members emails (approx 300) but do not wish them all to be displayed to all recipients. I am aware of the use of bcc to hide other addressees; however, I am told that including too many addressees in the bcc list causes problems with either ISPs or Spam filters. Is this true? emailing pictures Hello When you right click on a picture to email it, you are asked if you want Windows to reduce it's size which I usually want to do. Reinstalling Outlook Express I am having problems with Outlook Express 6.0 opening/running very slowly (over one minute to load) and wonder if I uninstall Internet Explorer 7.0 and then reinstall it, will I also get a clean install of Outlook Express? As I said, I am currently running IE 7.0, OE 6.0, and Windows XP Home Edition with SP3. OE6 troubles - can not open a simple .pdf attachment Hello all.. after having some difficulties a month ago and having to reset IE7 back to original setup....and then installing Acrobat 9.3....my .pdf's as email attachments in OE6 will no longer open, tho I can save to the desktop and they open up fine using the new Acrobat 9.3 when I do just try to open up the attachment, I get a modal window that simply states the same "this file does not have a program assoc...." etc and go to Folder Options to set that up. Tool Bar Trying to help a friend. Running OE6. From shortcut on desktop (Win XP) she gets to her Inbox, but the screen does not show Create, etc. It says File, Edit, View, Tools, Message and Help. There is no Send and Receive, and no Address Book. I think she has to have the OE Toolbar checked but how to get to it.
