two XP installs on one machine
Hi gang,
Can I have a 98SE on C, and /TWO/ different XP installations on
two other separate partitions?
I have 98SE on C now and XP on E but would like to add a second
- different - XP install on another partition.
It seems adding one more line to boot.ini should do the job.
Any comments?

WinXP question
I know this isn't a WinXP group, but it's a lot more active than those
groups and the people seem knowledgeable.
I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 on a Dell Dimension 3 GHz machine with 2 Gig
of RAM.
I have only heard bad things from people I know who tried to install
SP3 and on newsgroups. It seems that one of three things will happen.
1. Everything will go well and it will work OK. (Seldom)
2. It will seem to go well for some period of time and then something
happens and your computer gets screwed up.
3. It will not install correctly and your computer gets screwed up.

Congratulations! This has been a MEB-free newsgroup for 4 weeks.
We all deserve a pat on the back. This has been a MEB-free workplace
for over 4 weeks - practically the entire month of June.
As Microsoft turns off it's usenet server and removes this newsgroup

this group continues to exist outside of Microsoft we will never again
see him post to this group. The fact that he has been a fraud and not a

something to do with that.

I need a W98SE USB Human Interface (keyboard and mouse, so far as I can

Re: Win98SE and Comcast Hi Speed Internet (cable)?
OK, I finally got the Comcast Cable Internet connection set up and working,
by using the USB port. (I tried installing several a few PCI network cards
as suggested, and couldn't get any of them to work (even had a few blue

But - I have a slightly annoying residual problem here on my Win98SE

O.T 403 error Forbidden
Hi,
I have just come across a problem of which I have never been able to
understand or solve.
Was at WikiLeaks in last few days (good readin') and I noticed someone
gave an address to go to for more info (www.globalresearch.com), but
when I got there, it just said 'FORBIDDEN, you dont have access to this
server' & 'Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while
trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.'
I have come across other sites similar, especially one called Apache.
So, question is, Why cant I visit that site and what is a 403 Error?
Thanks

Modified Flash DLL available here (makes Flash 9 look like Flash 10)
Some websites now require that you have Flash version 10 instead of
version 9.
Flash 10 won't install on win-98 unless you have installed a third-party
API helper like KernelEx.
However, a simple modification done to the main Flash DLL (NPSWF32.dll)
will make it appear that you have flash 10 when you really have flash 9.
The modified file is available here:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/7/19/2010382/NPSWF32.ZIP
The password to unzip that file is "a" (no quotes).
After you unzip it, rename it to NPSWF32.dll.
Copy it over-top your existing file with the same name. It

Win98 is cool; Agent works differently on 98 versus XP.
Two points.
Win98 is cool.
Agent works differently in win98 from winXP, even when using the very
same copy of (or course) the very same version of Agent, with the very
same data files.
Win98 is cool. My misadjusted oil furnace made my computer dirty, and
I've cleaned it some but not enough and it still overheats on really
hot days, even when only Eudora and Agent are running, so then I go to
win98 where it runs about 5 degrees cooler, maybe 8 or 10**. Even
though it's just a different partition on the same drive, and the
programs and data files for both are exactly the s

Getting NTFS access in DOS of an external USB drive?
I'm temporarily back to my Win98SE computer now since the XP one has a

I am wondering if there is any way to access my WinXP drive (which is NTFS)
inside an external USB enclosure (which I already have), using something

I gather it only works if the drive is directly connected inside the
computer, which I cannot do.
I can't put the XP drive directly inside this computer, a

Making XP desktop look like Win98
I have used Win98 since 98. I really didn't care to upgrade, but it
seems there's just too much stuff that dont work in 98 anymore. I

Anyhow, I recall someone long ago saying there's a way to make XP look

My son have a Win98SE machine was runnuig very
well until sometime.
I try to rvive it but found lot of errors and
crashes. It could load into safe mode but as soon as a key or a mouse is
touched it could
LOCKUP all Keyboard mouse and Cntrl+Alt+Delete and the result was to turn
it
off from switch.
I refomated the hd and try to install Win98
but the setup could go only up
"Copying Files" and got LOCKUP all again.
If during the this process i touch the keyboard
or move mouse around, it gets lockup.
I tried to setup win311 just to check it.
It was ok upto the Disk 5 when it ask you
