The Microsoft SharePoint update doc stays to be current you should install 
WSS 3.0 SP2 and then cumulative update from October 2009.  There is one out 
for December 2009.  So, do I need to install both the October and December or 
just the December.

I can't find where it says that the December includes everything since SP2.
