Problem with datasheet & 64-bit installations
Once you have installed a 64-bit installation of Office, SharePoint datasheet
views can't be used any longer. It's related to the ActiveX component only
being compatible for 32-bit systems and not for 64-bit installations.

Exchange 2010 mailbox and calendar webpart for Sharepoint 2007
The webparts delivered with Sharepoint 2007 don't seem to be able to
target an Exchange 2010 server.
Does any of you know the way to get the 'my mailbox' and the 'my
calendar' from a MOSS 2007 against an Exghange 2010 server ?
Are there new webpart to install and configure, a special configuration
for the existing ones ?

Unexpected Error - KPI View
I am a new to WSS 3.0 / MOSS. I have a KPI list that works fine inside my
intranet. A remote (extranet) client displays the same list in "All Items"
view without a problem but if I click the list item or switch to KPI view
from I get the "Unexpected Error" message.

How to display subfolder in doc library on separate page
I'm trying to edit a SharePoint page that lists about six document libraries,
with subfolders underneath them. When a user clicks on a subfolder, I want
them to be taken to a separate page listing the documents within the
subfolder. For one of the document libraries, the subfolders work like
that--for the others, when you click on a subfolder, the documents within the
subfolder are displayed under the main folder, WITHOUT taking you to a
separate page. I want to be taken to a separate page for the subfolder. Where
do I control this? I've compared the doc library that is working

Import Image files with Metadata
Dear Experts
I have a invoice scanning program which creates the image of the invoice and
extract the data like suppliername , amounts etc which is kept in same folder
in xml file
we are creating invoice approval workflow for which we need the image and
the metadata do you know any solution which would import image and xml as

the filename are same for every image ( there is abc.tif and abc.xml for

Create Views for special user (groups)
Hi NG,
I try to generate a list, which shows some data.
In list, should be data from every user, but some users are in different
teams.
So we create views, which shows only the data from the user.
This all works fine.
Now I will generate a View for the managers, which shows all data in the
list.
This also works fine, but my problem is:
All useres can select this view.
Is there any way to set permission to the special view?

Linking from Word to Excel in Sharepoint
What do I need to do to link a Word document stored on a SharePoint site to
an Excel spreadsheet that is also on the same site? When I paste the link
into the Word document as an Excel object, then modify and save (and check
in) the spreadsheet, the changes do not appear in the Word document.

Newbie question about various forms options
Hi,
Very new to sharepoint. I've been tasked with trying to use one
list for PTO requests. While the PTO request is being made in a new
record in the list we'd like certain fields to be enterable and
visible. If the user wants to go to the same record after approval and
cancel the PTO request, we'd like another set of fields to be
available to the user.
What I've found is that I am inundated with various options fo

How to enable Enterprise Keywords in a Blank site in SharePoint 2010?
Hi,
In SP 2010, when I create a Team or Publishing site, the Enterprise
Keywords capability is active and I can set any document library to
include Ent. keywords.
However, when I create a Blank site and a doc library in it, there is
no way I can set the doc lib to include the Ent. Keywords column.
I tries activating various features, but nothing helped.
How can I do it?

Moving SharePoint to New Server
I've seen some threads on this, but I want to ask a few specific questions. :)
We want to move MOSS to a new 64-Bit server. We've experimented with a few
migration tools, but to be frank, they all suck.
What is the best technique to use that will also retain all the document
histories, meta data, custom web parts, workflows, etc...?
Please tell me it's not as simple as installing SP on the new machine,
adding to the farm, then shutting down the old server.

Problem with "Edit in Microsoft Office Project"
We have SharePoint 2007 implemented, and I am using MSO Project 2007.
I have a document library in which I store a number of project
documents, including the schedule. When I go to this document library
and select "Edit in Microsoft Office Project", the file opens, but it
always opens in Read Only mode. The only way I can open the file and
have it editable is to check it out first, then select "Edit in
Microsoft Office Project". And no, the document library is not
configured to require check out. Any idea why this is?

Problem with Copy&Past on Site Content
Hi NG,
We've got a little problem with outer Sharepoint 2010 RTM Server.
Some user couldn't Copy Data in the Site Content.
It's only a Problem in this Webpart/Control. Links or something else can be
copied without any problems.
I think this is a lokal IE Settings Problem, because outer User can copy the
data with the same user credentials.
Is there a special permission or setting in IE for copy data from the site
content?
The ribbion Copy & Cut is also deactivieted.

How do I copy a filtered group of files?
Hi. We are trying to get away from a deep folder structure within our
Sharepoint libraries, and move to one that is only two deep. We are then
using filters / grouping for our display purposes. But, we have run into an
issue where we need to copy a group of files over to a CD. Previously these
would have been in their own folder. Now with the flat structure, we can
filter our view to get to a list of the pertinent files, but cannot find a
way to copy only our filtered group of files. Any suggestions?

Primary Key for Sharepoint list to prevent duplicates
I need to make sure that no duplicate records can be created in a SP list. If
this were an Access table, I would simply make the field I want to prevent
duplicates in the primary key. The ID field in SP is auto-generated. How can

Doc library sent to receive emails, some attachments not being sav
We've had issues recently with sending files to a document library. If I
look at the headers for the emails that come in, I see this behavior:
application/octet-stream - Attachment not saved
application/vnd.ms-excel - Attachment not saved
multipart/mixed - Attachment not saved
On my machine, I can toggle this by changing the outlook format of the email
that contains the attachment. When another user does the same thing, he has
no issue. For me, I get this behavior
Plain Text - Attachment not saved
HTML - Attachment saved

Sharepoint 2007 and OWSSUPP.DLL
We are getting to roll out Office 2007 to our machines. Problem is we have
some people that have Project Pro 2003 and they use Sharepoint. So our
clients testing that utilize all three of these gets the infamous issue when
going into Sharepoint of the OWSSUPP.DLL error.
We fix per the forums we have found, we have loaded Project Pro 2003 first
then Office 2007 Plus next, after clients use Project Pro 2003 the DLL error
shows up again. If we think we have that fixed then WSUS patches come and
break the DLL once again. We have tried copying the 2003 to the \office\12
folder

Copy List Item
I need to copy a list item from a parent site to a new site. I cannot use the
SPExtended activities because I cannot install anything at the server level.

Email not being sent to assigned to when an issue is created/updat
Good Morning
I have an issue on all workspaces created when publishing a project in
Project Server.
The issues list is not emailing the assigned to a notification upon
creation/modification of an issue. Nor is it sending an email to the owner
upon modification. If the user sets up alerts manually they are notified
however.
When I create a new issues list, it works fine.
I have checked to see if there is a notifications setting on that list and
there is not. I have also checked the content db email notification field
setting and changed it from Null and False to True

searching a Dutch Last Name in a standard WSS Contact list
Search problem: searching a Dutch Last Name in a standard WSS Contact list on
a English site doesn't work. On a Dutch site it works fine! The Lastname is
Diepenmaat. When searching other names like Jansen,..,.. there is no problem,
searching mr Diepenmaat his First Name works fine, also the Crawllog
indicates that the listitem is crawled. There are no noise words except for
the default noise words in the standard noise word files. We are using Search
Server 2008 Express Edition. We installed all the language packs and
servicepacks.

Wish to access Excel files stored on a file server using UNC paths - simple
or so I thought...
have set up trusted file location

Then I go to a PC - access the web site - edit Excel web component
go to browse a workbook location

press the arrow icon

Working Offline with Risks & Issues
Hello,
I'm loading project risks on to my sharepoint site and would really like the
project managers to be able to update the status of these risk when they are
offline (travelling around).
I know that you can check a document out, update it offline and check it
back in and while it's checked out no one else can update it. But is this
possible for a risk?

change edit program when checkout html file
Using SharePoint 2007, when a document library has an html file, is there
anyway to change the program for editting from SharePoint Designer?
The majority of users here do not have SPD installed and prefer to use a
simple notepad type editor for html files.

Weird Issue Started last week SharePoint 3 Slow Upload from Browser.
A client from New Jersey Contacted me today
With a Weird Issue Started last week SharePoint 3 Slow Upload from Browser.
Now when you use the Upload from the website GUI it is fine
From the "Server Browser" it is fine.
But the User's PCs it is slow
So I uninstalled Trend Micro on the PCs
Still Slow,
I Ran IE without Plug-Ins still Slow
I even tweaked the Data packets for IE
And it still is slow..
Takes about 1.3min to load a 5MB file to SharePoint from the Browser on a
PC.
Most of the time it says Calculating..... and Sits...
An Ideas?

Title Field - Changing the column type
Is it possible to change the column type of the 'Title' field in my
SharePoint list for example, to a 'Choice' field?
I don't really need a 'Title' field, but of course I need to have the 'Edit
menu' option on one of the fields, and I don't want it to be a 'single line
of text'.

View last appended entry in a view as well as in a ported to Excel
I have a list with several text fields that use the append feature. I cannot
figure out how to:
1) Show the last entry in a view so I don't have to click through to see the
entries and,
2) Have the last entry show up when I export to Excel. I can't see the last
entry if there are additonal updates.

I'd like some tips to start: What should I read for upgrading a WSS V3 to
MOSS,then integrating it to a existing MOSS env?
I'm not used to this kind of actions but some colleagues asked me how they

Freeze Headings
I'm using WSS 3.0. Is there a way to freeze the headings in a document
library so that when I scroll down the headings stay in place? This works if
I change to datasheet view but the user needs this in the normal view.

Word 2003 docs open in Internet Explorer - inconsistent menus, MOSS 2007
When a user clicks a link to a Word (2003) document, it opens in the
browser (IE7). For some users, the Edit, Insert, Format, Tools, and
Table don't work, although the File, GoTo, Favorites, and Help do.
They aren't disabled exactly, but there are no dropdown options. We
can still turn on the Document Tool bar, and all of those options
work.
I can't figure out what is controlling those menu items. I've looked
under the File Types settings in Explorer for Doc files, and through
the IE settings. It seems to have nothing to do with SharePoint
privileges for the document since I have

Change Font
I'm a SharePoint user. Sometimes when I post data into a SharePoint list
field, the text appears in a format that differs from the rest of the data on
the page. Sometimes it stays in the source format and sometimes it changes
to another font that does not match the other cells on the page.
How do I change the field fonts in SharePoint? I can find no command for
this.

I have a list that I would like the user to have the capability to select
multiple values from one column source and have the data display every
occurrence of those values in the view.
I used a SharePoint List Filter and my results are below as well as my

InfoPath Forms Services not see RemoteApp file associations
I have a MOSS2007/InfoPath Forms Services with a Form Library. The form
library is configured Opening browser-enabled documents as "Open in the
client application". Works as expected when InfoPath 2007 is installed on the
local client.
When a RemoteApp (Server 2008 R2) version of InfoPath 2007 is configured on
a client, I get an error indicatiing the client app must be installed or a
web form must be enabled.
The RemoteApp (Server 2008 R2) version of InfoPath 2007 works fine on the

Licensing WSS 3.0 for 100 authorized users (internet)
Hi,
I am planning to implement the following WSS 3.0 scenario and unfortunately
I do not know how many licenses (and which) I exactly need.
At first some words to the environement
- 2 Windows 2003 r2 standard (1 for WSS 3.0 and 1 for MSSQL 2005)

I need to create a report in Access (2007), and then publish it (probably in
..pdf format) to a Sharepoint Document Library.
Anybody face this one?
The report is a standard Access report based on a standard query. Only thing
it does wierd is get its filter parameter from a text box on a hidden form.
Help!
