My pictures aren't showing in Publisher 2003, why?
I downloaded a Adobe Acrobat trial version last week and now I can't see
pictures in my publisher documents. I don't know if the download had
anything to do with it, but I have tried various changes to the pictures and
I still can't see them. The points around the picture show, just no picture.

I'm building our company website and I am not very good with publisher I
need to know how to make things (logo's ect..) appear on all pages?

I have a cell that I want to display a wide line of text across several
cells without expanding the size of the cell it is in. The cells to the
right of it contain formulas. These cells will equal "" (blank) when I want
to write across them.
The line of text will NOT overlap the next cell if that cell contains
anything even if that is a formula which return "".

toolbar. I've followed the "Help" file but that doesn't seem to work.

When adding a picture as a background in Excel it appears to tile the
picture. I've changed the size many times, but I can't find a size that fits
the screen without some tiling showing. It's OK to tile as long as I can get
the picture to exactly fill the screen so it only shows the picture and not
part of it repeating. I hope that made sense. Thanks for your help.
There's no way to prevent the background picture from tiling.
You could add some white or grey around the picture, to frame it, and it
might be less obvious that a bit of tiling has occurred.

In the last column of spreadsheet, if the text goes beyond the column
boundary, how is the text truncated in the next cell. I know you can enter
blanks in the next column, and that will achieve the desired effect, but
that's not an optimal solution for us.
Could you just hide all of the columns to the right of those cells?

I would like to find Macro or Function that will make text size to suite
eg. if the first cell has "bill smith" then the text size would be 10.
But if you had "Christina Vandermear" then the text size would be as small
as 7 in order to fit in that same size cell.

Why would you want to?
It sounds like you are trying to store two (different) facts in one field.
This is contrary to good database design.
But maybe your situation is different. If you'll provide a little more
specific description (and maybe an example), the folks in the newsgroup may
be able to offer more specific suggestions...

My macro works except that I've discovered a possible case where the .CSV

How do I remove text shadow that is beneath each letter in each word? I
changed slide design in which the text had shadows, and some slides' text
title has shadow behind each each letter in each word, which is what I want.
However, there is text shadow beneath each letter in each word as well and
it's upside down, which is what I would like to remove. By the way, when I
delete the text altogether and retype it, the same problem recurs.

need to have a hyphen "-" after the first 4 characters in

You can prepare a picture in a graphics program, then add it to the plot
Right-click the plot area
Choose Format Plot Area
Click the Fill Effects button
On the Picture tab, click Select Picture
Locate and select your picture file

I go into Format - Tabs - overwrite the default of 0.5" and change it to 0.3"
I also key in 0.3" in the Tab Stop Position: and then click Set then click Ok
However, when I save/close/open the document again the tab settings are back
....am I missing something???

Have you tried resizing the column? or perhaps a word wrap?
To resize a column at the top by the letter just click the line in
between and your mouse pointer should change and allow you drag the
