curving text to follow bottom of a circle in Publisher word art
I have selected the curved lettering style for the top of the circle, but
cannot figure out how to do the same for the bottom of the circle. I am
designing pins that need to have text all the way around the edge. PLEASE
HELP! This is a time sensitive project! Thanks!

print 8 page 8 1/2 x 11 booklet 1/2 size?
I have an 8 page booklet that I originally intended to print 8 1/2 x 11 & set
it up that way. I now would like to print it, instead as 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. I
know the proportions will not be perfect but they will be good enough.
I have played with this for hours to no avail.
I can't get the pages to come out right. i.e. 1&8 on one side of a sheet and
2 & 7 on the other etc.

How do I get the name of a city to repeat through a document?
I am using a template and want to be able to put the name of my city on the
first page and have it carry over to every page with the city name on, is it

Trying to convert .pub to .pdf and it's making my last page bold.
I'm trying to convert a publisher file (.pub) into a .pdf and when it does,
my last page becomes all bold (all the fonts). I've used the same fonts on
this page as throughout the document and even tried removing anything unique
like bullets and &'s. Still no luck. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Cost of printing a booklet
UK based.
Does anyone know an approx cost to get approx 50 page booklet (paperback)
published/printed for self use.
It would be equivelent to a half size A4 sheet.
It would not be elaborate maybe just a reasonable quality picture on the
cover and back doesnt have to be glossy.
Inside black print only no pictures.

Print Colour Cover w/Black & White inside?
Hi I cannot seem to find a work around for this problem! We routinely print
booklets for people using Publisher 2007. They want a full colour cover (and
sometimes a colour inside page) and all the other pages to be printed in
black.
We spend hours making sure every speck of font & image & borders is
greyscale or black or else 1 little thing and we are printing a 'colour' page.
Is there a fast way to make every single thing on the page black (including
text in multiple unjoined text boxes) or is there a program I can use to
select which pages are to be printed in colour and wh

Good day! I am creating a 3 panel brochure for our department. I am trying to
make a panel green. When I print preview it, there's always this white space
on my images.
How do I remove the white space? I wnat the whole panel to be my image with

Using a Publisher Template in Word - or equivalent ?
I've got my company letterhead created in Publisher and it is printed it off
to create a set of company-headed notepaper.
When I come to write a letter I enter the text into Word using a word
template for the correct margins, etc and then print onto the pre-printed
letterhead.
Increasingly I want to be able to create the same letter on the company
letterhead but print to pdf so I can send the letter as a file attach.
It seems a chore to do it all in Publisher and I don't seem to have an
option to create a Word template from Publisher
Can anyone tell me the best way to ach

view non-printing characters in different color from text?
I prefer to view non-printing characters (paragraph marks, etc) when using
Publisher, but sometimes get a bit confused as they're the same colour of the
text. Is there a way to view the non-printing characters in a different
color, eg blue?

Problems with printing transparency
I design a publication using Publisher 2007, and I have been trying without
success to print graphics with transparency.
My problem is this: I have saved my graphic as PNG-8, PNG-24 and GIFs to
knockout said white background. They show up fine on screen when I'm
designing but once I print using CutePDF, the white background is still
there. I've tried using the transparency tool on the picture toolbar as well
and cannot get it to print without the background. I've also tried using the
"Publish as PDF or XPS option" but it seems to make it worse by adding white
backgrounds on t

Publisher 2007
Hello--
I am a newbie to creating a website and need help with a few things!!
Have searched the Publisher discussion posts with all the key words I can
think of but no luck...
I have created a multipage website and am getting ready to put it up
on-line. However, the graphics for a couple of the pages won't be ready
for another week or two and I did not want to wait to put the website on
line and see what it all looks like.
My question: How can I block public on-line access to a couple of my
website pages but still have administrator access for myself? Is this
possible?

send as email keeps sending as jpeg attachment
I'm trying to send an embedded email message from publisher and it keeps
attaching it as a picture file. I recently had to reload my OS because of a
hard drive failure and I'm sure there's a setting I'm missing somewhere
because it worked fine before. I'm using both Outlook 2007 and Publisher
2007. I have unchecked the option in publisher that will attach as a jpg
file. Any suggestions about how to correct this problem?

saddle stitch stapling a booklet
printing a half A4 booklet, side folding. When select saddle stitch it
staples in the centre but as for a top folding book not a side folding? Can't
select any other position in the options as they are greyed out.

Auto shapes and text boxes will not format (Color in)
Any help would be so greatly appreciated:
I just installed MS Office Professional Plus 2007. There are some features
that will not work. For instance, I can not color in any text boxes or auto
shapes in MS Word and Publisher. There was a free trial which has expired.
I uninstalled it. I also uninstalled MS Office Professional Plus 2007 and
then reinstalled it – and those features still aren’t working.
The software was activated. I even tried to activate it again...but it
indicated that activation was already complete.

Publisher cuts off right side
I am creating a publication in publisher, 4 per page, 8.5x11 sheet of paper.
When I print it cuts off the right side. I have changed the margins in
layout guides to the minimum of my printer margins and it is still cutting
off. I am using publisher 2003.

Drop shadows on pictures in Publisher 07
I can only find a hard edged drop shadow in Publisher 2007. I would prefer to
use the soft edge vignetted drop shadow that is one of several available in
Word 07. Is this type of drop shadow available but hidden in Publisher or
can it be imported from Word?

alignment of web site
I have designed and layed my web site, I go to "pereview web site" and note
my web site is aligned to the left, not, as I would have thought, in the
center of the screen. There are no slide bars to align the page to the center
of the screen, so I can only suppose that the page is aligned to the left
because of some program command that I'm not awear of. I want the web page to
be centered up on the computer screen.

Publisher 2007 - Message "Cannot complete the operation"
Trying to insert a duplicate page I get the message "Cannot complete the
operation". No error code just the message.
I did reboot thinking a process may have been hung up, then did an Office
Diagnostics with no problems detected.
Has anyone had this problem and is there a resolution to the problem?

My recipients are not receiving my email messages
I have produced my first email message in Publisher. I sent it to one of my
colleagues - but he has not received it, it has been some time now.
why is that?
I recently removed the MS Office Program "business Contact Manager" because
I thought it was slowing me down. Do I need to reinstall that in order to
send email messages that I produce in Publisher?

Outlook Contacts field missing in Publisher mail merge
OS: Windows XP SP3
Software: MS Office 2003
I am helping set up a friend so he can print birthday cards for his clients
from Publisher. I've created a card in Publisher and have it set up to use
mail merge. I am using his Outlook Contacts as the data source.
I want to be able to filter the recipient list in Publisher by the Birthday
field from his Outlook Contacts. However, the Birthday field does not show up
as a column in the Publisher recipient list when I select Edit recipient
list... in the mail merge wizard.

How do I set up Publisher 2007 to work with Windows Live Mail? I am using
Windows 7 and Publisher 2007. When I try to email a document through
Publisher, I get an error message telling me I have to use Outlook or Windows

"Left-to-right Vertical" text direction (Vertical for Mongolian)
In Publisher 2007 or 2010 Beta, Text direction can't be changed to
"left-to-right vertical" even though MS Word 2007 and Power Point 2007 can do
that. In Word or Power Point, the menu selection was called "vertical for
Mongolian" . The function is very useful for people who edit traditional
Mongolian, Sibe and Manchu language text. I hope Publisher can add this
fuction. Thanks.

How do I mailmerge ALL addresses from Excel to Publisher?
I am publishing a 36 page address directory in landscape mode, with a text
box on each page divided into two columns. I have tried exporting my Excel
spreadsheet into this directory using mail merge and get the first address on
the first page, then the second address on the second page, etc. I want to
list 8 addresses per column (16 addresses per page). What is the code I have
to use to get the addresses to list sequentially????? When I go to print or
print preview, because it is a "brochure" I don't have the option to print
Multiple pages. Help!!!

Microsoft Office Publisher Not Working
Everytime I download the free trial for Miscrosoft Office Publisher I enter
the product key and it says to reboot to finish process. When I reboot
nothing opens and I complete the updates then I go to click on the program
and it askes me whether or not I want to convert. This has happened more than

email merge in publisher
I created a document for email merge. Merge fields in place, pick
recipients, merge, they all show fine on the screen, when I send, the
recipient receives and the merge field names show in the brackets and the
persons name is not there. It shows on the publisher screen as the merged
name, once sent just the merge field in brackets shows up. HELP

300 DPI required for commercial printing.
I have MS Publisher 2003 running on Windows XP.
I have had this program a few years and until now it has been
sufficient because I have only ever used it for screen or to print off
a few things indoors.
However, I now need to prepare some A5 postcards for commercial
printing to promote my business. The problem seems to be that
commercial printers require the files to be 300 DPI whereas Publisher
will only give 150 DPI. There is a workaround but apparently it
would affect quality.
The formats for commercial printer are pdf, tif, or jpg.

How do I save a picture into Clip Art Organizer? I have Pub 2003
I saved a piece of clipart and found where the clipart folder is --> C
drive--Programs--Microsoft Office--Clipart.... that part is fine...but how
to i get it into the Organizer so that when I do a search for say "house" it
comes up. Right now I can find it by going up to Insert and find the file
where I saved it.......but I'm thinking that down the road I may not remember
that part and would like for it to come up when I do the search in Publisher.

Type wrap around a circle
I want to wrap type around part of a circle. I have done this before in
Publisher, but can't recall how I did it. I went to Publisher Help, and there
it stated that Publisher cannot do that. Well, on page 6 of our January
newsletter there are four lines of type snugged nicely up against the bottom
portion of a circle. Please tell me how I did that, so I can do it again.

We have made many files with Publisher 2003. When we converted to Office
2007 the orientation of all the publisher files needs to be redone. Is there
a tool or what can I do so that I do not have to go back and reorient every

Trouble
I keep getting a message that Publisher is having a problem and that I must
open in a "safe Mode" . I am unable to copy and paste as I should be able

Printing is much smaller than I think I've set it up to be
I've setup my pages to be A5 and I'm printing as a booklet. I've taken the text boxes right to the edges of the lined pages on Publisher 2007....but when I print preview or print it comes out much smaller text with massive margins around the text.

Don't want the "format publication" pane to appear each time
I do not want the "Format Publication" pane to appear each time I open a file
or begin a new publication. I can click and close it, but it is annoying to
have to do it every time.

Need web addresses to show black in MS Publisher?
When an website address is typed in Publisher it shows and prints in blue. I
need this to show and print in black. I have tried changing the font and
font color without success. When this is printed with a black laser printer
the print shows grey and I need it to show black throughout.

11x17 printed brochure looks different than what is on screen
New to Publisher. Am using a template from a vendor for a brochure that is
11x17. the paper is folded in half so it is a 4 page brochure. I get the
layout to look exactly as we want in Publisher but when I take to printer to
get printed out, it looks completely different... The text box that is
wrapped around a picture and fills an entire page, prints to only fill half
the page. The entire text is there but it looks like it changed the spacing
and squeezed it into a much smaller space.
When I try to increase the size of the text box, the text beneath it goes
into the overf

Office Pub 2007: Problem "Publish As PDF"
I have a document (a magazine with both text and full-page artwork) that
I create using US Letter as the page size. When I generate a PDF from
this document using Publish As PDF, it correctly generates a PDF whose
paper size is US Letter (8.5 by 11).
I then copy the .pub file, open the copy, and set the paper size of the
publication to A4. I tweak the positioning of the content so that it's
better-balanced to the page shape (move L/R margins in, T/B margins
out), so that I have a good A4 publication. I then try to Publish As
PDF.

Where did the other pages go in my booklet?
Opened an 8 page booklet to update it and print. (Created in Publisher 2003)
The only page that is there is the first page. 7 pages are gone.
Opened a brochure to print and all that is there is the front side.
The extra pages seemed to have disappeared during one of the Microsoft
updates.
Is there any way to retrieve or find these missing pages?

I need to make a form out of an image already on my publisher page
I have some "boxes" with information and a checkmark box in an image i copied
into a publisher document...... I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to use
the checkmark box or highlight anything because it is an image...not a form.
Someone made the boxes for me as images.... she isnt' familar with publisher
but said I should be able to lay a form over the image......but I have
searched and I can NOT figure out how to do anything like that.......
HELP........ :(

Moving Graphics in Publisher to Internet Explorer
I have created a Web site using Publisher 2007 and have inserted PayPal
buttons. When the site is published and then viewed with Internet Explorer
6-8 the buttons have moved from where they were placed.
Can anyone help? I need to somehow anchor the buttons so they do not move.

Printing from within PUB and as a jpg
Win XP-Home - all current updates.
Inserted images into a Publisher 2002 document. Printed the PUB page from
within PUB. All image sizes are correct.
Then saved the PUB page as SAVE-AS - .jpg.
Printed the .jpg thru MSFT Photo Print Wizard.
Images printed 3/4 the size as the original images as printed thru PUB.
Appreciate all advice for this problem. Thanks. lars

Importing - newbie question
I'm using Pub2003, SP3, under XP Pro SP3, everything fully patched. I'm
trying to prepare a little book for printing. I open a blank document in
Pub, set printer page to A5 (the same as I typed the pages in Word) but
whenever I import the Word document, Pub returns to A4 size pages. If I try
to reset the print pages to A5 I end up with what I can only describe as a
mess. Any ideas, anyone?

Publisher 2007 hangs - freezes
when I have any publisher file open, and I attempt a copy command on any
object or text, publisher locks up and then stops responding. Other MS Office
products such as word or excel do not experience this same problem.

Hyperlinking to an Email Address in Publisher
I have designed an event invitation in Publisher. This will be sent out via
email to invitees by clicking "File - Send Email - Send as Message" in
Publisher. Within this document, I have a hyperlink for invitees to click to
RSVP. This hyperlink is to an Outlook email address, and thus pulls up a new
Outlook email for the invitee. I am able to populate the subject line of this
email, but I need to populate some text to appear in the body as well. Does
anyone know if there is any way to do this?

multiple page sizes
IS it possible to have two different page sizes within the same document.
for example...page 1 is 8.5x11, page 2 is 11x17 and page 3 is 8.5x11? I know
how to change page size within the document but it changes the page size for
EVERY page.... is there a way to limit it to making the change to one page

Preview - Not Responding Error
I am using Publisher 2007 with Windows 7 and everytime I try to preview the
document, Publisher goes into "not responding" mode and resets the preview
all over again and again and again.... Any ideas how to fix this?

I make labels, and after making a master of one, i copy all of it and paste
it to another publication. When doing this the fonts change from new times
roman to gil sans. How can i make it stay in new times roman. The reason
for this is the line spacing. The times roman leaves little space between
the lines

How to change uppercase to lowercase in Publisher w/o retyping?
Using Publisher 2007 - I have not been able to locate the place to change a
word from uppercase to lowercase without highlighting and retyping the word.
Am I looking for something that doesn't exist? I can go from lowercase to
upper with "Format" "Font".

Publisher--finding a hidden object
When I view my Publisher (2003) created HTML file in Firefox and IE, the
cursor seems to bring up a text box (or object) almost everywhere on the
screen when I move the cursor. In Firefox, the Tools/Page Info/Media
identifies this object and its text....How can I delete this from my pub
document (e.g. also find it!)

I just barely downloaded a trial of Publisher 2007. For certain things like
line spacing an paragraph formatting dialogue boxes, I get the above message.
I know for certain it isn't an actual memory problem since I have 4GB and was
using only using half of it when this problem started. I've tried restarting
the program as well as restarting the computer. Help!

mail merge issue
just got a new computer with 2007. Old system was 2003 on Vista
Do invoices and envelopes for the advertisers in our town newsletter thru
mail merge which is an .mdb file in Access. Somehow, it has decided that I
can only use 3 of the 86 entries in that file. Am able to get to the whole
thing in Access by overriding the security popup but can't get it useable by
other programmes. Pulling my hair out. What can I do to get "access" to
this information short of retyping it all over again? Can't figure how to
print it from Access either which would make it somewhat easier. Am

Making price tags out of 'index cards'
New to Publisher...have been making price tags in a card-making program that
prints three to a page - and I can alter the info on each tag. In Publisher
found blank index cards that work fine, and manipulated format to get three
to a page, but cannot vary info on each tag. Can this be done? Is this a
mail(ugh)merge project?

Print Quarterfold Greeting Cards
I have created a document, and when I go to print it the print setup page
shows that it must print with pages 2 and 3 at the top, upside down, and
pages 4 and 1 are right side up at the bottom. However, the print preview
shows the pages in order of 1,2,3, and 4, all right side up and that is how
they are printing....so I cannot create a quarterfold greeting card afer all
my hard work. I have tried shutting down Publisher and re-opening the
document but nothing is working. Help?

won't print all pages of document
Any publisher document I try to print only prints the first 2 pages...even if
there are more than 2 pages to the document. I have been trying to print a 5
page newsletter and no matter what I do, it will only print pages 1 & 2. Any
thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Navigation Bar - Publisher 2007 - doesn't work on Firefox or Chrom
I've created two websites in Publisher 2007. I used the "Publish to Web"
function to get it online with godaddy's FTP protocol. I notice that the
navigation bar doesn't work or display properly when I am using browsers
other than IE, like Firefox or Chrome.
They look fine in IE 8 (after ungroup) and they look fine when I'm creating
them in Publisher. These are my first ventures into web design so I don't
really know how to troubleshoot yet! Any suggestions to improve my
compatibility? Any suggestion

Importing labels from Word2003
I have Publisher2003 and WindowsXP
My labels in Word2003 are made by using the table facility
to create 8 labels (two columns, 4 rows) on one A4 portrait
sheet.
These labels have pictures and text boxes on them, and
various fonts.
When I try to import these Word2003 labels into Publisher
the import either does not happen, or is incomplete (eg the
text boxes don't import.)

My boss recently installed a copy of Publisher 2000 on her computer that came
with Vista, but was downgraded to XP. When she opens Publisher it disables
the "Print Spooler Service" on her computer, and thus will not print. I know
how to re-enable the "Print Spooler Service," but how do I make it stop
disabling it?
