Calendar View in Project 2007 - Viewing Items off of the screen.

  • Follow

I'm trying to use the Calendar View in Project 2007. My project is large and
when I set my layout option only some of the items are displayed in the day.
There is a dropdown arrow that indicates there are additional items. When
you print the calendar, those items then show up on a followup page and are
not user friendly.

My question is, how do you get to a task so that you can drag it up to be
visible in the calendar view?

I have tried using different sort orders but none of them get all of the
data onto one screen. Neither does the fit as many as possible option.
There is plenty of available space on the screen to move task to be displayed.

Hello Project question,

The calendar view is very limited and even though you have "available
space" when you start dragging tasks about, you are changing the
schedule of the tasks.

About 5-6 tasks scheduled on a specific day are about all you can fit
without running into the "overflow" tasks when you print.

If you are going to print the Calendar view, my suggestion is to filter
the view -- perhaps only showing tasks assigned to a resource or
assigned to a group of resources.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
