Queuing process blocked on one server

  • Follow

Hi,
I have two Project Server 2007 on 2 different servers for tests. On one of
them, the queuing process hangs after any reboot of the machine. I have to
stop and then to restart the Queuing service every time. After that
everything works fine, but I would like to know why the queuing process is
stopping on this machine.
Any idea?
Thanks

Do you get an error message on reboot? Not sure if relevant to this specific
issue, but some of the services sometimes have to start up in the right order.
If they don't get started in the right order, then you get an error message,
and some things don't work right. If that is the case, you need to go into
the system and define the dependencies.

I forget the exact details but MSProjectExperts documented it in their Orange
book for 2007. I am sure someone else on the newsgroup could fill in the
specifics.

Andrew and Xiao --

Refer to the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/Project%20Server%20Queue%20Service%20Fails%20to%20start%20after%20reboot%20error%207882.aspx

Hope this helps.

Xiao:

Are you by chance running SQL Server on the same machine? If so, see this:
