This is a brand new installation of Project Server. Luckily it is not a
production environment yet. I cannot get any projects to show up in the
Project center on my PWA page.
I have been searching for the answer to this for 2 days now. I have even
uninstalled Project Server, removed all the associated databases, and done a
clean re-install, The same exact thing happens.
I can see the project in Enterprise Objects if I want to say delete it, and
tasks that I assign to a user show up under that user's assigned tasks. I
just can't see that there is a Project at all from the project center. Also
the Resource Center shows this. "There was an error loading the page. Please
try again by clicking Refresh. If this problem persists, contact your
administrator."
I have disabled IIS Compression, and have run the following query against
the published database
USE ProjectServer_Published;
GO
EXEC sp_updatestats
There is only one project on the server, and it has 2 tasks, not a huge load
on the server at all.
I really don't know what else to try. Please be gentle with me on any
replies, as I am new to this whole Project Server/Sharepoint/SQL Environment.
I am running Project Server 2007 SP2 (SP2 was part of the ISO I downloaded
from Technet) Running on WSS 3.0, latest SP.
Just for grins I attempted to install Project2007sp2, and was informed via
error message that there are no products affected by this package installed
on this system. (Assuming that it knows sp2 already is applied?)
The SQL server is SQL2000, SP4 (Hope this isn't the issue, as I don't have
2005)

Are you set as an administrator in the system? Have you made any changes to
the out of the box security permissions? Do you have Project Center views
defined and associated to your account through a security category that you
are associated to?

First of all, thank you for the prompt reply! I am impressed.
I am an administrator. Domain, and Project Server. I have not changed
anything out of the box, not to views, or anything else. I have added my
domain users via the Active Directory Resource PoolSynchronization, but only
to see if it would work, and it does. I can see all of the server settings.
I did add my user to all of the Categories My Direct Reports, My
Organization, My Personal Objects, My Projects, My Resources, My Tasks.
Confirmed my user account is a member of Administrators, and Team Members
Groups. I get no errors when publishing Projects, the project workspace
creates as expected, but just can't see any project in the Project Center,
and the Resource Center gives errors as previously stated.
Would any other information be helpful? I don't know what else I can include.

A little more info...
On top of the other mentioned issues. It appears that when I attempt to
create a new proposal, I click the Save button, and nothing happens. I have
to hit the back button, or close the browser window. I think this issue is
something simple, but don't know where to start looking.

Hello Sycoduck,
This may not be obvious, but did you publish the project. They have to be
published before they are seen in the project center.

SycoDuck = JTDean
Yes the project published without error, and created a project workspace
site as well, but the project does not show up in the Project center. It
probably is something simple, but it is escaping me as to the cause of all of
these errors.

OK, I found out what was going on. I was really frustrated, and created a
brand new server, from scratch, new OS, new SP, new project installation.
I still could not access the PWA site correctly from a workstation, any
workstation on our network would show the previously mentioned errors.
From the new server however, everything worked just great from the web
browser on the server...
The previous site also works as it should on the newly created server.
Is there anything known to conflict with the PWA Active X Controls? only a
clean OS seems to work. I have removed all other ActiveX controls from my
own browser, including the PWA controls, and re-installed the ActiveX, and it
still is broken. This is definately just a web browser issue, but any clue
as to what could be conflicting with it? All my other Sharepoint sites, and
other web sites for that matter seem to work just fine.
Any help still appreciated, in the mean time, I will be troubleshooting it
further.

RESOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!
The issue was fairly simple as I suspected.
I work at a fire department. We have an application called FireRMS,
installed on every computer, and even most servers. The application uses a
foxpro component that is evidently incompatible with the ActiveX component of
PWA. Removal of FireRMS solves the issue. Don't know if there will be a
work around, but at least I don't feel like an insane person any longer.
Thanks to all that replied to this post!!!!
