Both fully updated with service packs etc as of today.
Load spreadsheet 1.xls from network folder
SaveAs as 2.xls to same network folder
Same user logged in, same folder, try on different
SaveAs works on all machines except a few which give the
"Cannot save folder marked read only"
SaveAs always works on local drive
Any ideas ??

This could be caused by a corrupted library. To reset the library,
follow the instructions for WMP 11 and your Windows version at

In Excel 2007, when saving a file, we get the following message...
"Errors were detected while saving FILENAME. Excel may be able to save
the file by removing or repairing some features"
If we click continue, it gives us the file selection screen to "save
Press enter, and we get "The file already exists. Do you want to
replace the existing file?"
If click "yes", the next message is "No errors were detected in
FILENAME. No repairs were necessary"
Click OK and it saves the file.

I've got an Access Database table with several thousand entries. I applied a
filter to get me a sub-set of entries that I want to export into Excel. When
I click Save As, it pops up with a box that's totally unfamilar to me. What I
think I need to do is save the new table I created with the filter as a
different name than the table I started from so I don't accidentally wipe out

Excel 97 SR-1 keeps giving me an error that it cannot save a certain file so
it creates a temporary one that I can open and re-save. Only doing it with
one specific worksheet that is about 20kb in size. I get the error message

No, not really. You could open up both instances, Powerpoint and Publisher,
and then drag and drop/copy and paste from the Publisher window to the

I am working in XL 2007, but my workbooks save as the lower version.
I have two columns of cells that I would like to apply a Conditional
Format to. I figured out the Rules Manager. But I'm not sure about
applying my conditions.
I have three possible values in column A; depending on the value, I
want to set the font color in cols A and B. Would it be better to set
three separate conditions across the cells? Or use some type of IF
formula in one condition?

I have created an excel document under windows xp/office 2003, this
document contains ~20 worksheets, and some vba code behind.
Using this excel file on windows works fine.
On a macintosh, I cannot save the document ("Document not saved")
I try with Panther/Tiger and Office X,Office 2004 without and with
updates. Note, that the file is stored locally, and is unprotected.
By deleting some vba modules, i can save again, but there is no way to
reproduce this systematically (deleting a given vba module could solve
