Hi - We have a second cash register that won't come out of Evaluation Mode, but the main cash register/database works fine, what can cause this? I assumed there was a dongle issue but now I wonder about the network interface or network issue? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks Jerry

Converting Date in HQ Manager Report

I have modified a PO report to include PurchaseOrder.LastUpdated as a column. Unfortunately the report include the time stamp in the LastUpdated date field. When I "Copy as Table" & paste it to my Excel sheet, the time stamp is also pasted. Even though I formatted my Excel column to Date format 1/1/2001, the time stamp still shows if I were to select on any of the date cells. This messes up my cell formulas in excel. The only way to get around this is to format my the date column in my excel to 1/1/2001, copy the whole column, paste it a notepad, then re- copy it from notepad, then

Dongle Issue

Hi All - We have a licensed 1.2 copy of POS since 2004. Suddently our dongle stopped working. It doesn't work at all. We've tried to reseat it and still nothing works. We recently deleted past transactions and rebuild the database indexes but other than that nothing has changed. Any ideas?

2.0 .php password query problem

Last night we upgraded our store to 2.0...well technically 2.0128. Anyways, we have a reporting program designed by our reseller, that our employees can access through our intranet. To log in, they need to use their RMS credintials, and in turn the program checks against our database. Since we upgraded, this does not work....I'm thinking it has to do with the new encryption of the password. We haven't heard back from them on a fix yet....has anyone else run into this type of scenario?

Windows 7 and label printing

When he previews the label on the Windows 7 machine the first time, it displays correctly and will print fine. When he displays it a 2nd time, it omits the description and does not print the description. they have to get out of Manager and then back in for it to see the description again. After reboot they cannot access the label file until they have accessed it from label designer first. What the? -- Pat

Ingenico 6558 Pinpad firmware

After setting up the pinpad in RMS 2.0 getting error "Failed could not claim" Turned on logging and see that log and errors related to failed claim during request. Engenico support claims all of the new pin pads have a firmware version of 3.4 and the RMS software is only able to support 2.8, they did not feel as though they can find the older firmware to fix this issue. I've heard that there is a solution for shops that sell prepaid mobile vouchers. I am particularly interested in a POS printer with set of buttons which select the prepaid vendor and prints next voucher. As far as I understand printer is connected to a server which sends all the necessary data on request, so printing job is initiated FROM THE PRINTER itself. Can you, please, name me a couple of vendors and models of such printers, and, maybe, some source of technical documentation ? Is this feature supported by some standard POS software, like JavaPOS, for example ? B

Using HQ is it possible to have different Costs at each Store? I know that Different Costs can be downloaded to Individual Stores but does that in turn change the Cost in HQ to the last Cost created OR sent to Store. At the moment just have 2 Stores but want to add another - we may want to have different costs at this Store - what is the best way to manage this? Any help appreciated

Cannot install RMS 2.0 Service Pack 2

I have created a VM with Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition (SP2) in order to test on it the integration between GP and RMS (HQ and Store Operations). Currently I need to update RMS to Service Pack 2 because one of the store databases which I am using for testing was backed up from a system using RMS SP2. The problem is that when I am trying to install the service pack I am getting an error saying "The update cannot be applied". Any ideas why this could be happening? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am running into the old problem of needing a report that shows the sales from last week in specific departments and categories across multiple stores in HQ. I know that I can make a report using syntax like: Department=X AND DateSold=Last Week OR Department=Y AND DateSold=Last Week OR Department=Z AND DateSold=Last Week OR But that's a lot of DateSolds to have to change each time they run the report. Issue With Suppliers When Adding New Items

One of our clients has RMS with the latest RMS service pack installed. Apparently this had been a long running issue, but they had never told us about it. When adding new items, if they add a supplier during the first item edit, it will disappear the next time they open up the item properties window. Adding a supplier after this will work. So basically when they add new items, they fill in all the information, close the item properties window, open it back up and add the supplier. RMS HQ WS250 - Update Item Alias

I'm running RMS 2.0 SP3 (ver 2.0.0126) in which i've deleted item alias' via the item properties alias tab in HQ for several items. Once completed with removing alias' in the alias tab for each item, i created & processed a WS250 from HQ to receiving store, however, some items still have alias' at the store. Can someone explain why this would happen? I've checked the hq client for the ws250 in question and it completed with no errors.

Alert when inventory level is low.

I would like for RMS to alert me when an item quantity is getting low. I know that a report can be ran to view levels, however I am looking for a way to have the Manager alert me via the email function or some other fashion that an item is getting low. Changing from HQ to Single Store

I had two stores, one of which I have closed down. I was using HQ. All of my customers were set up as global customers. I have customers that purchased on credit and made payments in both locations. Now I want to eliminate HQ all together and just make my company a single store environment. I want to eliminate the HQ computer and second store computer. Hi, How to auto generate item lookup code ? This would surely be through a custom add in. But with which hook, will we attach our add in dll ? e.g If on Store Operation Manager, a catagory is selected, item look up code should be autogenerated based on the category. There are limited numnber of hooks that are fired on a limited specified events e.g additem, save item etc. If we want to capture other events like i mentioned one (selecting a value from item category etc), What will we do? Report Help

I'm trying to get a report together that will show the total of the transaction and how many items where bought if the transaction contains a certain UPC. In our example, we want to know what the customer spent and bought if they used particular coupons last week. I've come up with some, but the detailed reports in manager don't really allow me to see the total sales of the entire transaction. And it causes double reporting if the customer used two different coupons in the same transaction. Does this make sense? Surely someone has wanted to see this information before.

RMS parallel dongle V1.2

Having run RMS for a number of years in a pretty basic setup, time has come to upgrade our hardware. I purhased a business grade computer without an inbuilt parallel port thinking I would install PCI/Parallel card. Little did I know that XP is not very flexible with parallel port addresses. Tried to configured the Sentinel key using new drivers from Safe-Net and the PCI card but have not had any success. Has any one experienced these issues and had any success? I know I could upgrade to the latest verison of RMS but seems like a waste of money since Ver 1.2 works fine for us
