outlook express shows header info in html mail

  • Follow

Hi
i've sent an email thoruh a form in a php page; in some outlook express
client the mail is shown with some header info and with html tag as they were
plain text.
I receive the email just as it should be, while my collegue (which is beside
me in the same office) and my client don't.
I already unchecked the 'Read message in plain text' checkbox.

Has anyone any idea about it?

NB: i used the phpmailer class in php.

Thanks
Vitto

I presume that you are talking about something like Yahoo Groups where
you send a message to the group and it is then sent to as e-mails to all
members of the group.

Are you also using Outlook Express or are just some others who have
problems with the message? If you are also using OE, you could have you
colleague save the message as an EML file and transfer it to your PC and
see how it opens. That would tell if if the message that he got is
different than the one you got.

Another thing to look at is how the others have configured their
membership in the group. With Yahoo, for example, each person can
specify whether they want plain text or HTML format messages as well as
whether they want individual messages periodic digests that include
multiple messages. Either of those could affect how the messages are
displayed.

Also, if the people having problems have their anti-virus scan e-mail or
are using an anti-spam program, either of those could be altering the
message headers and causing the problem.
