Hi All,

I am using windows xp home sr3 and outlook 2003.  I would like to know if it 
is possible to put the news tab in the go menu?  If so, how is it done?

Outlook has not and will likely never support NNTP (network news transfer
protocol).  That is a feature enamored by personal-use (home) users.
Corporations are not clamoring at Microsoft's door for a feature that
further wastes their employee's time.

To integrate NNTP into Outlook requires buying an add-on (I haven't see a
free one), like Newshound.  However, Outlook isn't designed to support all
newsreader features so you may not like the view (or lack or customizing it)
in Outlook for newsgroups.

If you're asking about the View -> Go To -> News menu item in Outlook, that
never did do NNTP within Outlook.  That menu item called whatever was the
currently configured "news" client (which is typically Outlook Express but
can be any NNTP client).  So you end up loading Outlook only to end up
loading a separate NNTP client to do newsgroups, so you might as well start
out by just opening the NNTP client in the first place.

Go into Internet Options -> Programs and configure OE (or your newsreader)
as the default news client.  In OE (if you use that), go into its options
and enable it as the default NNTP client.

Right-click on Toolbar, choose Customize and add the News menu item.

However be aware that this will not add a Newsreader function to Outlook - 
all it does is call your default newsreader whether that be OE or 
Thunderbird or whatever you use. 

Sure.  right click on the toolbar area, choose customize. Look for Go in the 
categories on the left, News will be on the right. Drag it to the menu or 
toolbar you want it on.

If you previously did this and it disappeared...

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel | 
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express.  If 
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch 
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.

I was able to get the news tab back on the menu bar.  Thanks to all you
