Upgrade? or not to upgrade.
I accepted the invitation to try office 2010.

Until recently each user on the network stored mail in its own local PST

question re: re-enabling cached exchange mode
I've scanned this group for posts regarding cached exchange mode and
OST files, but haven't found the information I need.
I need to know the impact of re-enabling cached exchange mode and NOT
removing any old OST files.
Scenario:
User works with Outlook (2003 or 2007) in cached exchange mode for a
period of time. Then, for whatever reason, cached exchange mode is
disabled.
The OST file is NOT deleted or renamed.
After some time (months maybe), cached exchange mode is turned back
ON. The user's profile in Outlook has not changed, nor has there been
any change on the Exchange

Templates, xhtml, css and media type
Hi there,
we're in the process of creating a template. Currently, I feel the
template is fine, it has a legal disclaimer and a 'Please consider the
environment before printing' (on company request...) besides the company
logo and contact details.
Both the legal and environmental parts don't need to be printed. I find
this especially true for the environmental line, it wouldn't be the
first time it's the only line on page 2, which kind of voids it purpose
(not to mention looks hypocrit like hell).
Anyways, when viewing/printing the html template from a browser, all is
fine, the

Up front I'm stating, not interested in all the bells and whistles that may
or may not be added on to what I'm looking for in an excellent email program,

view image in email
I am using Outlook 2007 as my email account and find that I cannot open
pictures sent in emails. I only get emails from trusted sources as my email
address has been kept to few people.
I have tried several options including the use of the "Tools", "Customise"
tag with various settings but to no avail.
I still just get the box with the red X in top left hand corner and no right
click option to view the image.
Does anyone have any ideas.
Thank you

Outlook and iCalendar
Hello,
I am writing a MAPI addin for Outlook that would generate iMip style
messages for meeting requests, responses and cancellations. I know
Outlook configured to work with IMAP is able to generate and consume
such iMip (iCalendar messages), and was wondering if there is some
method/functionality exposed in Outlook (or else where) which I could
use to generate and parse the iCalendar objects into Outlook objects.
I noticed the SaveAs method in the Outlook Object Model can generate
iCalendar files for AppointmentItems but wasn't sure if the same would
generate the correct iCalend

Any advice on what to use to handle hundreds of nested distibution lists pls?
Hello,
We're migration from a third-party mailsystem to Outlook 2003 with
Exchange 2003. In the old system, one departmental mailbox had
hundreds of large distribution lists, many of which were made-up of
several smaller distribution lists.
The main use of the mailbox is to receive news-alerts and distribute
them to the various lists depending on the topic. Nothing to do with
email marketing campaigns, it's a govt environment.
Because of the limits on the number of members of a distribution list
in Outlook 2003, we've had to migrate the distribution lists to
categories. This is

Hey all,
E-mails I receive from one particular address keep going to "tasks" in

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

We have a timeline chart which we follow in our office for keeping track of our office's chief tasks. We need a mechanism so that we can track what activities have completed, when and by whom, what are the remaining

When users click on View - Current View - By Category in their

individual contacts.
However, where nested distribution lists have been migrated, they

accept/decline the meeting directly on the Exchange calendar, it
works; it only fails when I accept/decline from PST inbox).
What's strange is I've had this setup for years and

Edit as New
Thunderbird has a nice little trick - by right-clicking on a sent mail the
option to 'edit as new' appears.
Is there a way of doing this in Outlook 2007? (except by pretending to
forward and faffing about)

The Windows Live Newsreader crashes with Outlook running
Windows 7 64-bit & Office 2007.
If I start the windows live newsreader while Outlook is running the
newsreader will crash.
Running the newsreader when Outlook is not running, everything works fine.
Any ideas?

Outlook freezing when changing keyboard language
Windows 7 and Office 2007.
When I change the keyboard language using keyboard shortcuts (any
combination) Outlook will stop responding. A lot of Googling revealed that
this is caused by the Outlook Connector (which I use to access my Hotmail
account). Actually, without removing the Outlook connector, if I just
remove the Hotmail address from email account list, the problem disappears.
Anyone knows how old to get rid of this issue?

could not create the work file
I am using Outlook 2007 and just the other day, I started getting the
following error message:
Outlook could not create the workfile. Check the temp environment variable
I googled this error and found a couple of articles suggesting the fix is a
registry entry:
Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
Value name: Cache
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
I verified the key has the correct value.
Does anyone have any other idea as to what is causing this error and how to
fix it?
Thanks.

How do I sync Outlook 2007 with my Yahoo Mail account?
I have a Yahoo Mail account that I would like to view from Outlook 2007.
How do I import or Sync these two systems and will I lose my ability to
still view my Yahoo Mail account on-line?

Changed Outlook Behaviror--How to Change Back?
Somehow, I changed Outlook so that two things are not as they were:
1. The keystrokes for "Send," <Ctrl>-<Enter>, no longer work. Nothing
happens (I suspect it was a change I made in Word to make it a little more
like WordPerfect, but I dunno); and,
2. The keystrokes for "Macro Run," <Alt>-<F8," bring up something related
to Help, instead of running a macro.
Obviously, it's a newby mistake, and I'll take that. But does anyone know
what I did, and how to reverse it?
Thanks.
Don.

Calendar Printing Assistant Weekly Calendar View: Display Description
I'm currently running Outlook 2007 on Windows 7.
I need a weekly calendar view that prints all details of an
appointment including the appt description.
I'm modifying the Week List 03 template, but running into problems.
1. I need word wrap on all day events
2. I need to remove the end time from the display
3. I MUST have the description of the appointment displayed.
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!
