Can anyone explain why a message notification appears in Outlook (in 
lower-right corner of screen), but the message does not show up in my Inbox, 
nor in my Junk or Spam folders?  How can this happen and where does the 
message go?

    If you are using Windows Live Messenger to monitor your Emails on 
MSN.com, Hotmail or Live Hotmail.com, you simply need to click Send/Receive 
in Outlook for it to appear in Outlook. The Emails are still on the Server, 
not on the computer.

What type of mail account do you have?

Are you filtering your view?
