How do I get Outlook 2007 to stop downloading emails twice?

About 3 weeks ago, all my emails started coming in twice.  I recently started 
using Outlook 2007 (at the end of October) and am bareley familiar with the 
new version.  One of my new settings is for my ISP to maintain emails on 
their server.  Is this suddenly causing my problem?  If so, can I work around 
it?
