Promted for opening of attachment form Outlook

I have tasks linked to notes in One Note, whenever I click the attachment to open the notebook, I get a "Opening Mail Attachment" you should only open attachments from trustworthy.......... and the " always ask before opening" box is checked and grayed out so I cant change it. Although not the biggest problem in the world, it is an annoyance. Any thoughts on how to eliminate this?

I can't send emails to Onenote it comes up with a Onenote box which keeps trying to do something, but then - I eventually get an error message saying there is a problem and to disable the addin...but as I understand it I need the Onenote addin in outlook.

Organizing notes on a OneNote page

I would like to know if there is a simple way to insert a note container between a group of notes on a page without having that container be on top of, or merged with, another note container I want to use OneNote like a storyboard. If I have several scenes on the page and I want to add another near the top of the page, I have to manually move everything down. Is there a setting or something that I can click to make the containers automatically move down the page, the same way that text moves down the page in Word when one pastes a graphic or chart onto the page?

Automatic switching between the line/arrow tool and the pointer

Up until recently, my OneNote was set up so that whenever I selected the line tool or arrow tool, and drew a line or arrow, OneNote would then automatically switch back to the default pointer so I could go back to typing or resizing objects. It doesn't do that anymore - when I draw a line or arrow, the line/arrow tool stays selected, and I have to go and click the "Type Text or Select Objects" button to go back to the pointer. I must have changed some setting, but I can't work out what or where it is. Can anyone help?

Error message in Onenote - Section is from a later version of OneN

I have installed OneNote 2007 on my computer running Windows 7. I have received an error message in the General and Unfiled tabs that states that "This Section is from a later version of OneNote had installed OneNote and cannot be opened." I did previously install and then uninstall OneNote 2010 beta. Any suggestions on how to fix this error message would be appreciated. Thanks.

Send to OneNote Printer did not install

I recently purchased a new laptop. My old one had 2003 which I upgraded to 2007 and had a "Send to OneNote" printer. I installed Office 2007 including OneNote on my new computer, but there is no such printer option. I'd really like to have the feature still, but I can't figure out how to create it. Is there something special I needed to do while installing OneNote to have the feature? Thanks!

Tag toolbar on sidenote

I dont know if anyone noticed this yet and a quick search didnt show anyone asking for this - so just wanted to share - If you use tags extensively and want your tag toolbar on a side note - just pressing the "F11" twice will show the tag toolbar on the side note !

A tradeoff between readability and file size?

What would you prefer guys - not pixilated graphics and great readability, unfortunately by accepting big files, or the other way around? I got quite disappointed when my crisp-clear PDF documents declined terribly when printed to OneNote, and further from OneNote to my printer. If there is no user-defined quality setting here, or a bug fix(?), the idea of using Office OneNote 2007 as a "print queue" for later paper print-outs, is lost! proofing tools

I have downloaded language pack for office 2010 beta. I use English and next to that Turkish. But ON always underlines the Turkish words because it does not have Turkish language proofing tools. Does this language package include proofing tools for different languages or does it only allow to change the language of the program menus?

Bitmaps of handwritting

After conversion from handwritting to text is done, OneNote still remembers 'graphic form' (you can press right mouse button, and choose "More" from context menu to see it). Do anyone know any simple way to remove this graphic form? It would make onenote files much smaller... docked mode position

Is there a way of docking the OneNote window where I want? On my system it docks to the top of the screen, which is far less convenient that on the side. Yet in various illustrations on the net, it docks to the side. Where do you control that position? -- Alceste

Maybe question is a bit strange, but anyway... I use OneNote 2007 to take notes, using tablet. Than, I convert handwritting into text. Of course, I have to check conversion, as there are errors (maybe my style of writing, maybe polish language is too hard, at least now, for perfect recognition). To correct sentences I frequently use "right mouse button" to see some propositions of other words. Some of my onenote pages are getting quite large. I can manually copy a hyperlink for each paragraph on the page and include that link in an intial paragraph on the top. Restoring One Note notebooks

Hello: We use Onenote in a corporate environment. I recently got a new PC. On my old machine, all of my notebooks opened automatically when I opened Onenote. With my new machine, none of my notebooks are listed. I know that the notebooks that I want are on the network (somewhere), and I happen to have a .vhd backup file of my old computer that I can mount in Windows. Is there a way to restore my notebook list so that I can get back my previous set of open notebooks in Onenote?

Opening shared notebook on SharePoint opens temp directory in brow

If I go to a SharePoint site and click on the link for a shared OneNote notebook we find that the temp directory gets displayed in OneNote (100s files!). This seems to only happen on our Windows 7 PCs (all are x64) and if we use Firefox or Chrome - IE works fine. Does anyone have a similar environment without the problem or know of a solution? Thanks

Sharing PAGES

This is probably so simple and obvious that I will kick myself when I learn how easy it is to do ... I can find lots of information on sharing whole notebooks. I want to do something much simpler. I want to be able to create a single page (say for example, notes from a meeting) and email that single page in its native OneNote format to multiple recipients. Is there a way to format the appearance of the tabs for pages and subpages? I'd like to use specific colors for different pages and groups. Also, is there a way to increase the size of the tabs either horizontally or vertically to accommodate a longer, more descriptive label.

Moved sections in shared notebook revert after sync

I'm trying to move a section from one section group to another one within the same shared notebook. It allows me to move it however, when I sync it reverts back to the orginal location. Has anyone see this? Any ideas why this happens or how to correct it? Thanks.

Trouble managing layout of multiple data containers on a page

When I enter new data on a page, it is always created in a new data container. These containers are all independent of one another, so they can overlap. I want to be able to insert new data onto a page and have OneNote automatically move down all the data below it (even if that data is in multiple containers). Also, is there a way to get OneNote to put everything on the page into a single container, so i don't have to deal with these problems? Thanks, Jonathan

ON 2007 note container moves by itself

Hello, I have a frequent problem when putting note containers and objects over images that I clipped. Everything seems ok for a while and all of a sudden, if I click above one of these containers or objects, all of them below the mouse click will move to the bottom of my clipped images. I just cannot find the logic either the sequence that triggers this misbehaviour. Can somebody help ?

Sorting pages in Unfiled Notes causes error

Using the Sort Pages powertoy, on the pages in the Unfiled Notes notebook, I get the following error: "Could not UpdateHierarchy from OneNote. Error code: Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004200B" The message comes up twice. Sorting pages works in other notebooks, just not in Unfiled Notes. What IS it about that notebook? Can't import text messages there except by a workaround.... Can't sort the pages, unless I take them out and put them elsewhere, sort them and put them back.... How to automate spacing of boxes w/in OneNote pg.

When I create a note it automatically places a box around that note. As I create multiple boxes, they will sometimes run into each other as information is added. Is there a way to automate so that it will adust as notes are added?

ON 2010 batch conversion?

I'm in the process of converting my old ON 2007 data over to the new 2010 format. It seems, though, that I have to do it one notebook at a time. Is there any provision for converting multiple notebooks on a single job? The problem is, many of my notebooks are fairly large, so it would be nice to just set it up to convert a bunch in an overnight process. I want to set up some OneNote pages as an 8.5x11 printable template. I want to write a book chapter all on ;one' OneNote page. I find when I pass the 8.5x11 print surface the background is gray and while I can continue to write the white "note-taking" surface is gone. I have set my paper sizes to 8.5x11 as that is the format I want when printing out the text but how can I set the 'writing surface' within the page to become viewable??? Trying to sync my notes to audio as accurately as possible?

I use OneNote for an unusual purpose. As a lawyer, I summarize audio recordings and then in court I am able to instantaneously play the portion of the audio if they lie or give a different version of events in their testimony. In order to prepare for this, I copy an MP3 file into a OneNote page and then I run the audio and start summarizing the audio as close to verbatim as possible right on the same page. Start a new 'paragraph' without using mouse

If I am typing a series of notes as separate 'paragraphs', how can I start a new paragraph from the keyboard? Currently I have to reach for the mouse and click somewhere below the current paragraph. And if I don't click far enough below, the cursor stays in the previous paragraph. I really don't want to use the mouse at all for this; I just want to hit some key combination and keep typing.
