Problem with Moving Ink

Hey guys, As an engineering graduate student, I recently moved to using OneNote to take in-class notes. I thought it was great for the first couple days. Unfortunately, I've been noticing that when I reopen OneNote on any given day to take more notes, some of my notations will have moved. This is extremely, incredibly, nauseatingly frustrating, as the text normally moves on top of some other text, which makes it unreadable and inseparable from the text underneath. How do I stop OneNote changing my default font

Hi, I have set the default font in Tools - Options - Editing - Default Font, which I thought would set the "Default Font". (in OneNote 2007) This font is used for some things such as titles of notes, but any text I put in the body of the note reverts to Calibri. I tried changing it to my default font, but every new line or bullet point, it uses Calibri again. Is there another Default Font setting somewhere or some way to talk it out of this habit? HELP! Lost data due to error

I dragged and dropped one section of a notebook into it's own notebook, then split it up into several different sections by highlighting pages and dragging and dropping into new section tabs. When I was done, the first section got an error that says "Waiting to sync this section. Another Onenote created it but it has not uploaded the content". I can't get the data and when I went to file / open backup the notebook isn't even there! Is there any way I can recover this data? Possible to do OCR on a Tiff using OneNote Interop API?

Is it possible to do OCR on a Tiff image using the 2010 or 2007 OneNote Interop API? I've been using the MS Office 2003 Document Imaging Tools MODI interop API to do OCR on Tiff images, that has been working well. We're moving to Office 2010; MODI no longer exists. The One Note application does OCR (insert a Tiff image into a notebook, right-click the image and choose "Copy Text From Picture," it does a good job of reading the text from the image). Is there any way to do this from the Interop API?

Drag and Drop

I've recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I used to be able to drag and drop selected text, images, etc.. from MS Word, IE 8 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 into OneNote. Now I can only copy and paste into OneNote. I seem to remember having to set permissions to enable drag and drop between applications, but can't figure out how to do this. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Registration

Out of the blue recently, a OneNote (SideNote) icon has appeared on my task bar. I am not familiar with the product so I thought I would check it out. When I click on the icon, I am prompted to enter my MS Office product key, but I receive a message stating that the key is not correct. I have tried this several times minding to check my entries for accuracy, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to uninstall this product or somehow complete the registration successfully? I do have a valid licensed MS Office disc.

Adding a new button to the toolbar

Can anyone give me directions on how I could add a new button to the Toolbar for adding a link to another app or program? I know this may accomplished by using something like visual basic or something, but if anyone has any tips or directions it would be much appreciated.

OneNote Trial

I'm currently using OneNote in the Trial Download version. I want to purchase the actual program from an online source, which will send me the disc. Will I have any trouble using the info I have created in the Trial version when I switch to the permanently installed version?

All .one files missing! (ON 2010 Beta)

I have somehow lost all of the .one files in all Notebooks. The name of the notebooks is there, but none of the .one files are. I see that from File | Open, there is 'Backup' all of the notebooks are there. In the notebooks are multiple versions of each section. However, it is not clear how I restore the notebooks: do I have to create NEW notebooks and then open the latest backup version of each 'section' into the new notebook? Or can I somehow restore the whole notebook all at once (with the sections coming along with the notebook)? David

One Note button has disappeared from Outlook toolbar

In having some ITeam work done on my computer, somehow the Outlook toolbar icon you could click to save something disappeared. I have tried to get it back, but the method in the instructions doesn't work. Help please. One Note is nearly useless if you have to open it separately and create a new page and copy whatever you want into it. One click is much more user-friendly.

Pictures - add frames

I like to use one note as a note book for my child. I add videos, pictures, scans of his work from school, and stuff the teacher has sent home about him. He is also autistic, we use one note to keep data to give to the doctors as well. OneNote 2007 Attachments from Outlook

Is there any way to have the attachements of an email sent from Outlook to actually be attached to the notebook you file the note in once received? I have THOUSANDS of attachments to emails filed, and all the actual files are in the "Temp" subdirectory, and don't move when the page is moved from the "Unfiled Notes" section. Certainly makes synchronizing notebooks a problem.

Tagging And Sorting Text Boxes With Multiple Components

Hi, I am a graduate student using OneNote 2007. I am having difficulty figuring out how to accomplish the following task: 1. Copy/Paste a small portion of text (in picture format) from a PDF in Acrobat into a ON text-box, type the book’s name and page, and type some notes. (I can do all this). 2. Tag the text box. 3. Sort all text-boxes by tag name. The problem I am encountering is that it is not possible to tag the text-box. Rather, each item in the text-box must be tagged individually. Lost OneNotes

Started using OneNote 30 days ago ... made entries over several consecutive days. Then no entries for 8 days. I then clicked on icon and a new, blank OneNote page opened. My current noteBook was not found in Doc or anywhere else - until I read here about FILE>OPEN BACKUP. Should I have done a 'SAVE AS' to keep the original notes in tact as a single note book? Am I missing something here ... as it seems I would have been just as well to have used WORD and SAVE AS, saving some 45 minutes trying to re-locate the NoteBook files??? Can you customize order of new page

I have meeting notes in One Note going back over a year and can't figure out how to have a new page appear at the top of the page list. By default, new pages appear at the bottom of your page list and you have to manually drag the new page up to the top. Anyone know how to change this setting?

Maximum Notebook Size

OneNote 2007 Can anyone tell me if there is a maximum file size for OneNote 2007 notebooks? Also, I know from experience that Outlook PST files have a certain size threshold--something like 500-600 MB--where the probability of file corruption greatly increases. Hyperlinks not working

Hi, I'm starting to use hyperlinks to point to other documents, after realising that insert files only inserts a copy. The hyperlinks only seem to work if Word is open. If Word is not open the links stop working, returning an 'unable to open, program to which your are navigating is busy' error. The path is correct, except for a % sign being inserted for spaces. When I hover over the link, the path is correct (no % signs). I've tried editing the link and the address is displayed correctly in the field, prior to clicking OK, but I keep getting the same error when I actually click on t
