Error 1402.Setup--Cannot Repair--Code 57A Errors During Updates
Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2007 Enterprise edition
Many people have reported this issue, but after 3 days and a dozen (wasted)
hours, none of the sugestions I've read so far, have yet worked. Suite apps
all work fine...it is just that for some of the "important updates", the
install fails (Code 57A). When I try to repair off the DVD, I get the
"...cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\Components\(...)\(...) Verify that
you have sufficient permissions..." Then I am directed to a file for
instructions on how to contact Microsoft PSS--only the file doesn't exist(?)!

Office 2007 Custom File Uninstall
I've created a custom Office 2007 Standard install .MSP which includes files
and reg keys added to the package. And it installs perfectly. But the
uninstall (from ARP or setup.exe /uninstall standard) does not remove these
entries. Normally I would handle this all using Custom Actions int he MSI,
but OCT precludes that option. Am I missing something in my customization?
or does OCT not remove customizations (even though their site says it does)?
Any and all advice welcome.

I have the installation disc but cannot uninstall and re-install via the

My computer came with Office trial version. I bought Office Home & Office

I uninstalled the trial version and am attempting to install my purchased

After entering my key, installation begins but then stops with this Error:

Upgrading from Office Home and Student to Small Business
New notebook because old one crashed. I have my installation disks of Office
Small Business 2007 UPGRADE, which was installed on the old notebook. Of
course, I can't locate the disks for Office 2003, which I'd upgraded from.
And, of course, in the install process, Office 2007 is telling me there's no
version of Office on my computer so I can't "upgrade."
I do, however, have the install disks for Office Home and Student 2007
(which is loaded on a different computer). According to the Office Small
Business Upgrade docs, that qualifies as a version eligible for upgrade.

Activation Office 2007 Enterprise
Hello Group,
i just installed Office 2007 Enterprise with a Volume License Key on a test

I am a certified partner and i got the key from my partner login page.
Now my question:
Is it normal or a "new feature" that there is an activation required the
first time office starts?
In Office 2003 VLK there was no activation required.
I want to install office via deployment in our department and i don`t want

Office 07 Installation problems
First off I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I uninstalled a store
bought copy of Office from my old one so that I could put it on my new one.
While trying to install, the product key works but once it starts installing,
the progress bar freezes. It will go a little and then won't move for hours.
Can someone help me please?

Office Professional '07 UPGRADE
I was doing an upgrade from Office Pro '03 to '07, and hit an error calling
for C:\TEMP\SKU011.CAB. The CAB was not anywhere on the machine so I copied
the file from another machine to the TEMP folder, then another CAB, then
another.
I'm not sure where the files went, but I had them on another machine so I
copied the entire folder from one machine to the other, and the upgrade
finished okay.
It ran a bit on the slow side, but I'm thinking this is a hardware issue not
a file location issue.
It's a bit of a pain to have the qualified base for an upgrade installed and
runni

Problem installing MS Office 2003 Pro on New Laptop
Hello Everyone,
Trying to install MS Office Pro 2003 OEM (New) on New Computer using Windows
Vista Home. It should be a simple thing, right??? Can't get the software
installed. I let my nephew try it, who graduated from college recently and
has a degree in computer programing and he could not do it. The problem, he
said, is the Windows Installer needs Updated. He clams they evidently do
not know the problem exists or have not found a fix for it. I have used
computers when Windows did not exist yet and grew with Windows and have
never had a problem putting older software on a ne

Word, Excel 2003 + 2007 on same Win7 computer
I've always used the Office 2003 programs. But recently, I decided to
switch Outlook to the 2007 version. In the process. Office 2007 also
installed the 2007 versions of Excel, Word, etc.
So now I have both Word + Excel 2003, and Word+ Excel 2007 on my
Windows 7 home premium computer.
I don=92t care at all for the ribbon and other features of Word or Excel
2007. But now my opening an old Word or Excel file brings up 2007
Excel
I know there=92s a setting to create an association between .XLS, .DOC
etc.. and a particular program, in this case Excel 2003. I tried to
make the c

moving Office 2007 from old PC to new PC
Hi,
On my old PC, I had upgraded Office 2003 to Office 2007. I bought a new PC
and I want to move Office 2007 from the old to the new.
I still have the installation disc for the upgrade version, but the new PC
won't allow me to load the upgrade on the new PC. The error message is that
an old version of Office must be installed on the new one before the upgrade
is loaded.
So I have a double challenge -- moving an upgrade version of Office 2007
from one PC to another. Any suggestions? Thanks.
