Accessing a file from a Web Server
Cannot access a file from a web server in various releases
of Excel. KB151064 for Excel97 states that SR 2 is
required. But, I cannot find any information for later
releases of Excel. We have users with various versions
of Windows and Excel and IE. Can anyone tell me what is
required to be able to access a file from a web server?

I have invoices sent on one worksheet and payments received on
I'd like to do a Pivot table which would be capable of doing a summary
of what each account owes.
At the moment I do a pivot table on the invoices sheet and another
pivot table on the payments sheet, then I copy and special paste as
values these pivot tables together into another table, subtract one
from the other and then I've got a nice summary of outstanding amounts
for all accounts.
Its a really messy way to go about doing it!
Would it be possible to do one pivot table incorporating both sheets
of data...how do I install office on my notebook?
My son has a notebook with no CD drive. I want to install my Office 2003
(which has 2 installations left) onto it, without having to buy an external
CD Drive. Can anyone tell me how to do this via the internet, please?
1) external cd drive, which you will need when you have to recover your o/s
(you do have, or are going to make the recovery cd's?)
2) via a network installation
3) Copy the installation cd to a usb thumb drive

This hasn't changed in E2007. To Hide as you correctly say hold CTRL and tap 0
To unhide you have to select the columns either side of the hidden column(s)
then CTRL+Shift +0

I created a workbook with many macros using the simple "record macro" tool.
This fiel was saved in *.XLS format. It is intended to be a master fille and
when you fill it out as a form you re-save it with a new name.
the problem I am running into is that after I re-save it wit a new name the
Macros won't work properly. I get an error message and when I click to run
the debugger the macro lists the original workbook name.
How do I fix this so that the macros work regardless of file name?

I have three E2K servers that the transaction log files are not deleting
after a full backup. We use Backupexec 9.1 but I have also tried using
NTBACKUP, both unsucessful. These servers were recently patched with the
Exchange Roll up - KB870540. I have two E2K servers that are clearing the log
files but the do not have the roll up installed and are running BackupExec

Have you made sure that
a) you are backing up the entire Storage Group?
b) none of the mailbox stores are dismounted?
Either of the above scenarios will cause the log files to not be purged.

Is there anyway to set a date/time that "out of office assitant" starts and
ends at in Outlook 2003. I didn't see an option for doing this. It
appears to be either on or off.

I have my company inventory on 15 different excel 2003 worksheet files. Is
there any way to consolidate those file and reports for each item? I do not
want the Pivot Table way. Because the structure of the worksheets is not
comfortable for that.

conficting with another user. I looked at the product ID number to try
to determine which set of install disks I need to re-install from, but

AFAIK, the Product ID is a one-way hash based on the CD Key, so it can't
be retrieved in a useful way (you can see what ...Printing gridlines in Excel 2007
We cannot get gridlines to print in Excel 2007. We have the checkbox checked
on the print gridlines under page layout. We also have gridlines checked on
the view tab.
Make sure that gridlines show in the workbook? If you made the cell fill the
color white, instead of none it might "remove" the gridlines from the print
job since the color of the lines would match the cell fill.
Just a guess, but I have had that happen.

open the workbook using Excel 2003 it does not know the chart sub-type, and
when the chart is regenerated by my macro it defaults to 'Line with markers

trying to open an Excel file from the cd and I get the following message:
"Cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to
