How do I print a background image in Word 2007 without tile?
Whoever helps me find a solution to this is pretty darn smart.
I thought this would be a piece of cake but realize now it's harder than it
seems even though it should not.
I made a beautiful letterhead for my company but have it in Jpeg
So I decided to write a contract on it with word and paste the letterhead as
a background
I did some searching on how to do this, because as usual, the most simple
and obvious option of doing something was not apparent in a Microsoft program
:(

synchronization of files
Hello. Two questions:
1) So if multiple people are editing the same file - how does that get
resolved? What if they were editing the same line - who's changes take
precidence?
2) Do we end up saving our document (word for example) in a 'groove' folder
on our hard drive? on our network? is the document stored in your file
repository?

Hi,
I did a newsgroup list reset in Outlook Express on msnews.microsoft.com and
lost the following groups:
microsoft.public.excel
microsoft.public.excel.newusers
microsoft.public.powerpoint
microsoft.public.word.newusers
Are those no longer available? Were those replaced by another group
name(s)?

I have trained users in Office products for 15 years. Each new version of
the Office programs has been made more difficult than its predecessor to see
and distinguish colors for male users.

Using a range in Sum Function
I have run across an oddity in Exel 2010 Trial Edition.
If I define a range to be cells c1, d1, f1 and g1 using the Name Manager and
then put the following in another cell:
=Sum(range name), the function returns the proper value.
BUT, each time I open the worksheet after just viewing it (not changing
anything), Excel asks me if I want to save the changes. I didn't make any
changes so why should it ask me that?
Is there a solution to this?

Big trouble matching with data on excel!
Hi, I'm required to present some info at my work, using two excel files. This
is the task:
File 1, has ID numbers in column A, and column B is blank.
File 2, has ID numbers in column C and column D has the date the person
joined the company
File 1 es a select grop of people (about 2500), whereas File 2 is the
general database (about 30thou)
They're asking me to match the data, in order to end up with the
coresponding date they joined the company in column B on File 1 (obtained
from column D on file 2), how to do it? taking in account that File 1 is

Where are my own templates stored?
Could someone explain how I can get my own templates to show up in the list
on my Microsoft Works Launcher? I have MS Works and Office, in the task
launcher it has a tab to show templates, how can I get it to show my template
for Sales Order? It would save me so much time rather than having to open up
a new word document then using the open folder to load my template. I'm sure
it's obvious, but I can't figure it out. :)

using outlook 2007 which says addin ESET OUTLOOK plugin is needed
I have looked for this plugin on Micosoft's web page but it does not seem to
know anything about it. I get this pop up every time I use outlook, would
like to stop that if I can. It does not stop outlook working however, just

"find" is permenantly orange-highlighted- in outlook ...
My problem is that "find" is permenantly highlighted and when I try to
"reply" to an email, outlook hangs when trying to open Word.
I am running Office 2003 professional and have tried "fixing" with the disk.
I am a bit leary about a full install because I have email saved in my
folders that I definetly don't want to loose. I am not too sure about
archiving and retrieval. I have never successfully retrieved email in the
past. Anyway Outlook hangs when I try to reply to an email and I have to shut
the program down through Task Manager.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what cause

Cannot send email from 2007 docs
window comes back saying cannot log on the microsoft exchange to access your
address book.
Doug Robbins replied that registry may need updating - mine is set as he
described
this applies both the .pdf and xps docs

Microsoft Office Standard
I bought the Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition for my
children's laptops (2) in December (2009). One laptop has had the hard drive
replaced once and I needed to reinstall Office. The computer has again
crashed and I have been sent a replacement. Can anyone tell me how many
times I can install this? Is there a maximum number of times? I have
already installed it 3 times and I would like to install it again on the
replacement computer.

ONLY PRINTING 4 LABELS ON 1 PAGE
I am trying to create labels for a couple hundred recipients, but only four
recipients will print on a sheet. Also, they are printing in the middle of
the sheet.
How can I make it fill up an entire sheet when it prints?

How not to have those slanted inverted comma when editing text in Word

I'm using Word as a text editor. I notice that it uses those
slanted " and ' instead of the vertical ones. This cause a problem

When I try to download the free trial of office pro, a pop up comes up on my
computer that says I need to connect to the internet.I have been trying to do
this all day, and I have had no luck changing settings, etc. Can anyone
please tell me why this is doing this? I currently have the student version
of office on my computer, I just recently bought it for a class I am taking

MS Office 2010
I recently installed MS Office 2010 on my computer. I have windows 7 64bit on
it as well. When I login, it gives an error message stating:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request.
I've tried the regedit fix by deleting
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook and
repairing Office after deleting.
I also tried setting as default from control panel but it did not work.
Deleting the MSMAPI\1033 did not work either. I still get the message when I
log off and log back in.

Office 2010 Appearance and Tweaking
Recently upgraded to Office 2010 and am VERY unhappy with the appearance of
the various apps - especially Outlook. Three questions please:
1) Other than the 3 included "skins", is there any way to change the color
scheme? It is both "blah" and hard to read. I'd like a bright color with nice
contrasting text.
2) Is there any way to get smaller icons on the main ribbon? The ribbon
simply takes up too much room.
3) Is it possible to customize any of the icons (create a new one or alter
the existing image)?

desktop appearance
I changed the background on my desktop. The wording under each icon is now it
its own box and blocks the background. I want to remove those boxes so the
names of the folders are directly on the picture. Hope that's clear. Thanks

Print Screen doesnt work
Hello,
I used to be able to copy a screen shot and paste it into Word/Outlook, etc
by hitting "prtscn" (or ALT-prtscn), then CTRL-V in the application I wanted
to paste it into. But for some reason the last few weeks this isn't working
anymore. I have even tried copying the screen shot for this question I am
typing right now, and it isn't working. When I go to paste it into Word,
nothing happens. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? I am on
Office XP, Word/Outlook/Excel 2003.

Please add an option to show the full pathname to the current file in the
menu bar without having to write vb code, add the limited column 'Document
Location' command, etc.

Office Update Error 646 Are You Kidding Me?
Forgive me if this has been covered a zillion times, but the many
references I find on the web are conflicting and ultimately not helpful.
I first encountered this error during a routine Windows update on my
previous system. All the Win 7 updates were applied as normal, but the
two latest Office 2007 updates failed due to error 646. I clean my
registry as part of weekly maintenance, so I was dubios of those
articles suggesting registry conflicts as the cause, not to mention the
fact that I had no problem with Office updates in the past. In any

Office 2007 Professional: Help Files Issues
Gents,
I cannot find a solution to this odd issue and before I submit a support
ticket I thought I would ask the community.
We have office 2007 professional (volume licensing) on a Window 2003
terminal server. We have a few users out of a bunch that get the "This page
is unavailable" I have tried the Refresh and back. I've tried online and
offline modes. In offline I get the table of contents to the left but same
unavailable message when I click the links.
I noticed on testing some other users, that apparently never used the help.
That there are some prompts before hand.

Groove Workspace - How do I share/add users to my workspace?
I am using Groove on my office pc and notebook to synchronize files. It
works perfect.
I invited a couple of my students to share my workspace. They have Groove
installed on their computers. If I search for them in Groove public
directory, their names appear. However we cannot share the workspace.
My students are waiting for my confirmation. On my end, there is no prompt,
or anything that I can do to confirm them. How do I add them?

Multiple Email Accounts in Outlook 2010
I have set up two email accounts (Or at least I thought I did.) under
Outlook 2010 just as I have them set up under Live Mail which I will abandon
once I get Outlook working like I want it to. If I send an email from from
my laptop to each account they appear in my Desktops Outlook's only Inbox.
In Live mail I have the two accounts, each with its own Inbox.
How can I set up Outlook to have separate inboxes for each account?

reinstall Office 2007 from CD
I am trying to reload Office Professional 2007 on my HP Pavilion dv600 with
VISTA from the installation disk. The installation begins after typing in my
product code.
Installation stalls and I get the following message:
Setup cannot find: Office:en-us\1033\dwintl20.dll
Browse to a valid installation source, and then click ok.
I don't know how to proceed and must cancel installation. The problem is
repeatable.

Favorites tab in Office Help
When using 'offline' Help in all MS Office app's, I would like to have a
Favorites 'tab' in the results window.

Microsoft Works # 9 calendar
I have activated Microsoft works # 9 calender reminder from the start up
menu, but have still not received a reminder of events on start up or when
using the calender. I used to get a pop up window with the calender as a
