Pages getting cut-off

  • Follow

Hello,

I have two computers with running Office 2008 on Mac 10.5. Both of the
computers are using the same network printers. Both are trying to print the
same documents. I am using the same user account with a profile loading
from a nework folder on both computers.

On the first computer the document prints correctly, but on the second
computer, the bottom four lines of the document get cut off. Every time I
open the document on the bad computer and go to Print for the first time,
the document small preview looks okay, but when I hit the preview button,
the last lines of the document don't show, and when I exit the preview
screen, the small preview does not look okay anymore. I tried about 10
different printers, but I cannot get print the document in its entarety no
matter what. Other applications on the bad computers can print okay. It is
only word that cannont print the full documents.

Everytime I log out from the bad computer is asks me to if I want to save
the normal.dot file, and word crashes when I reply not to save. (am afraid
of messing up the profile that works on the other computer.)

I want to guess there is file or files in the bad computer that are messing
up the print jobs.

Could someone please help me figure out which files on the bad computer I
can delete or replace to fix this problem.

Any help you could offer will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Federico:

Chances are the "bad file" in question is "Normal.dotm" and the answer to
the Save prompt should be "Yes".

It sound sas if Normal Template has been set to US Letter paper size on one
of those computers. US Letter is a strange non-metric paper size available
in only one country of the world, and it's shorter than A4 by about four
lines :-)

Cheers
