Main identity in entourage

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I just rebuilt my identity in entourage because it had grown to about 30GB over time. I got it down to about 7 or 8GB's and it just started growing again about a GB our two a day. In less than a week I'm right back to where I started. Is this normal? what can I do to keep this from growing so quickly it's eating up all the resources.

It's definitively NOT normal.
You should select the root of the account and ctrl-click it to get to
the properties. From there you can see the size of each folder.
Try to see where the problem is. It could be a problem of
self-duplicating contacts or events for instance.

Is the account the same size on the server too or is it just in Entourage?

From the same dialog I was mentioning, you can select to purge the
Exchange cache. That might do the trick (but will trigger a redownload
of everything).

If you are going to have to download everything again, you might want to
consider creating a new Identity and then let Entourage download
everything. If you have info under folders "On My Computer" you would
need to export those as .rge file to import into the new Identity.

I can't open Entourage at all. "Can't open w/ this identity."

Which identity?

How do I change it? Who's that dancing with my daughter? Where's my car keys? How do I get out of here?

A new identity might not be a bad idea anyway. I'm kind of tired of being me.

I would assume the Main identity. The default one Entourage creates
when you first launch it.
You get this warning with very corrupted identities or when you
downgrade (eg: reinstall Office 2008 without applying any update and
launch Entourage).
