How to Downgrade IE 6.0.2900.5512 back to IE 6.0.2900.2180

  • Follow

We have an application that works on IE version 6.0.2900.2180 but it was
updated to IE version 6.0.2900.5512 and now the application does not work
anymore. Is there any way downgrade IE6 back to 6.0.2900.2180?

Thanks

You would have to (1) uninstall WinXP SP3, (2) reboot, (3) reinstall SP3 and
then (4) do not install any Cumulative Security Updates for Internet
Explorer (e.g., KB980182)...which would *not* be a very wise thing to do!

And what about Vista computers (running IE7 or IE8) and Win7 (running IE8 by
default)?

I think your application needs a LOT of work!

You are going to find that a lot of Web based applications will begin to no
longer work at all with IE6 period. Unless you are still running Win 2000 or
earlier it is time to get away from IE 6 altogether. I know this doesn't
answer your question, but it is really time to get away. If you have an
application that depends still on IE6, well it is really time for another
application.
