I am not able to add new tab in the IE 8 after adding home page to any other 
site. for example if my home page is set to "www.linux.com" and if that page 
is already opened then adding new tab is not possible. 

Please advise.

Start by stating your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1; 
Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit).

Hi,
If one site (home page?) is a Trusted Site and the others are not, IE7 and
IE8 will open a new window, not a new tab. Is that what's happening?

Hi,
       Thanks for the reply, but this is not happening. When i try to open 
new tab in IE 8 the new tab opens some time but it dose not opens some time. 
and when it not opens in the IE 8 after these the IE 8 crashes after some 
time.

Same problem arise when you run IE8 in its no add-ons mode?

Did you upgrade to Win7 64-bit?

Does this behavior occur in IE8 32-bit as well as IE8 64-bit?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your 
subscription current?  What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? 
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this 
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought 
it)?

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You are not able to open a new tab 
with Ctrl-T? Or by clicking the square to the right of the first tab when 
you go to your home page when opening IE 8?
