I am working with a client and have brought in beginning balances on GP 10.0.
They have 4000 employees that receive tips. I would like to know how the tip 
allocation works on this. Per their previous system they should have approx 
20,000 total in tip allocations.

How do I verify the allocated tips? Is there a way to update this information?

As I am not finding documentation on this process I am unclear how allocaion 
tips works. I do have the Calculate Tip Allocation marked in setup with 8%.

According to the GP help file:

Allocated tips are employee gross receipts divided by company gross 
receipts, multiplied by the tip allocation rate and are reported for each 
directly tipped employee. 

You have to expand the 'show details' button in order to enter Receipts.

I am entering Employee Direct Tips and Employee Total Receipts - under 
transaction entry.

How does the system know the total Gross Receipts for the company? Where is 
this data stored? As they have 300 Full-service Restaurants that operate 24 
hours a day, where do I input the Store Receipts for the system to calculate 
the tip allocation?
