New Company in GP10

  • Follow

Has anyone come up with a planning document with a checklist of questions
asked during the creation of a new company in GP10?

Yes, I have the manual, but would like to present management with a list of
questions to answer rather than have them hover behind me during creation.
And the new comany will have a different structure from existing ones, so
copying from an existing company is out.

Hello David,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Forums! Please note the new Forums using
are at the following URL link - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/

I am not aware of a checklist which to provide you outside of the manual.
If you desire creating your own custom checklist, the company creation and
setup process can be tested prior. Dynamics GP allows for a company to be
created and then deleted. This will enable you to even mimic the process
using the same company name and database ID.

Delete company within Dynamics GP is under the Tools - Utilities - System
menu. You do need to drop the SQL database for the company afterwards as
a 2nd step.

The Setup Checklist might be a good starting point for creating a
checklist.
