GP 9 SOP Batch Not Posting

  • Follow

I know I've run into this before. I just set up a new database. Financial,
Sales Transaction, and Payables batches are all posting. SOP Batches,
however, do nothing. I go into Master Posting - select the batch and select
post.

It counts down the percentage and then nothing happens. The batch remains
there - nothing is posted to the GL. Posting accounts are set up, Fiscal
periods are open. I remember there being one setting I needed to select when
this happened before but for the life of me I can't find it.

Thanks!

Kate,

Open the batch, click on the Print icon in the upper right corner, choose
Edit List from the dropdown at the top and print the report. At the top of
every transaction this should give you a reason why that particular
transaction will not post.

Often for SOP transactions it's because the Inventory and COGS accounts are
missing. Even if you are selling items that will not be using those
accounts, the accounts must still be there.

Thanks Victoria,

As it turns out - it was because I had imported the batch before setting up
the Posting Accounts.

I just deleted the batch and re-imported them and everything went through!
