Check printing

  • Follow

We are having some of our vendor names cut off on checks when the checks are
printed. The Vendor field is roughly 30 charactes long but the check
printing seems to cut off the name at about the 20th character. Where would
a person look to make an adjustment?

Thanks

That's what the Vendor Check Name field is for. You can't throw an
abbreviation or two in the Check Name? If not, you'll have to expand
the check name field on the check form in Report Writer, or if using a
3rd party tool like Mekorma, the change will need to be made to the
Check Face there.

Hi,

Like Frank said, you just need to expand the Vendor check name field in the
report writer report. The actual field is 64 characters wide, so you
shouldn't have any problems if you just make the field wider.

Let us know how it turns out!

Kind regards,

Leslie

We're still having an issue getting the entire name on the check. We've
dragged the field so its longer, but with the signature field to the right
of it, we still not getting the entire vendor name.

Out on a limb here, but can the field be made "taller" so the vendor name
wraps?

And you can't shortne the Vendor Check Name at all? I'm not sure if
you can wrap text in Report Writer. Maybe Leslie will know.

Why not make the font smaller on the vendor name field on the check report?

Patti,

Good point. And no you cannot 'wrap' in Report Writer. You can parse and use
calculated fields - that might work, but the font idea may work just fine for
you.

Keep us up to date!

Hi Merle,

I would recommend using a smaller font on your checks.

When customers argue that the font is too small, I ask them to look at the
checks they receive from other companies.

Once they realize that other companies use small fonts, they don't complain
anymore :)
