FrontPage 2003 - Please help

I am totally new to FrontPage 2003 but wish to continue creating a site in it. Can anyone advise on the following: 1. Whether I should buy a domain name and start hosting as soon as I start or should I wait until I have completed the website on my local computer and then publish the site 2. I have created a strip of moving (right to left) images in Flash5...each one being a button and if clicked on should open up an individual web page with a large version of that button image. hi folks I'm sure one of you good folks will save my bacon as usual I have a series of websites, all of which exhibit the same odd behavior with interactive buttons. I have a bunch of buttons in the left margin, each of which pulls up ( lets call it ) a chapter, and in each 'chapter' are a number of related pages. mouse over hyperlinks

On one of my web pages http://www.robpendleton.co.uk/Links_page.htm as the mouse is hovered over a hyperlink the link text shrinks, which I don't like, and I can't find how to stop it. Any help would be appreciated.

Print Cut Off

I am trying to create a postcard, 4 per page on 8.5x11. I have changed the margins under layout guides to the minimum for my printer and it still cuts off the right side. Please help. I am using publisher 2003. -- rileyd

Just wanted to say many thanks for your good advice regarding the z-indexes of CSS DIV's. Setting the possition to Relative works perfectly. I spent 2 days on google trying to find the answer and couldn't find it anywhere. You both advised how to to it and it works really well as you can see. http://www.ukoutdoorpursuits.org All I need to do is to spend another few days on google to find out why the drop downs are still "clickable" when they are hidden. FrontPage 2003 Questions

I am trying to create a printable page and I have only the pertinent information on the page and it opens in a second browser window yet I would like the new window to pop up above the online page and only be as large as needed not a full size browser window. Is that possible? I would also like to have the online page be a size that will fit and fill up all space on any monitor’s screen so the user will not have to scroll to the left or scroll unnecessarily no matter their pixel settings to view the website. Excel Macros

Hi: I have a workbook with 14 worksheets. I need 14 macros I want the name of the macro to be the name of each worksheet. ex. FA2E, FA3E, FA4E, etc. the macro is the same except for referencing the worksheet name. I have the first macro and am copying/pasting 14 times, changing the worksheet name and macro name. However, it doesn't work properly. About the 5 copy/past excel seems to want to call the macro by the name of the workbook, dot, worksheet. What am I doing wrong. Now that Microsoft is not upgrading or providing support for Frontpage, is there a software I can use that will service my website, which was created in FP? I am a very rudimentary user, and mainly need to upload content, but I want to get a web design software that would allow me to make a few changes. However, I don't want to start over. Scrolling Text Field

I am not sure if this is the correct forum or not. I use FrontPage to manage my personal website and I am one step above a novice. On several of my pages I post rather lengthy clips of VBA code. I would like to display this code in some sort of fixed sized text field where visitors could scroll to read or select and copy the text. center floating text box on page

Central navigation?

Sorry if this is a basic question, but I am struggling. Currently I have basic HTML navigation which is fine, but if I ever want to edit it I need to change it on every single page. Is there a way to have a 'central' navigation system, i.e. when I change something on the master navigation it will edit on all pages? Also, I want images rather than words to be the link AND I want different bars. Link Bar Disappearing

When I am designing my home page, the correct link bar shows up. When I preview the page in a browser, the link bar disappears. When I click on "link bar properties" and try to change the levels that the link bar shows up on, I can't get the little box that says "page link bar will appear on" to go up to my home page. Upgrade Issue with Home-Student 2007

I have upgrade issues with PURCHASED suites... I recently purchased a Windows 7 Laptop, and UNINSTALLED the TRIAL version of Home-Student 2007, since I OWN the Small Biz Version and the laptop had WORKS latest version included. Activation on new computer- in 2011

I bought a used copy of FP on Ebay to use on a computer that I will be buying *next year*. However, I want to make sure that I can activate it later, even though FP has been discontinued. The Ebay seller assures me it has been deleted from her machine, but she did activate it. Should I wait until 2011 (when I buy the new computer) to activate the software, will Microsoft still be in the business of activating FP software in the next few years (since Expression Web seems to be the new Microsft product). I don't want to wait and then have it not work properly.

Link Form to Access Database thru DSN

I am using Front Page 2000 running on Windows 7 What I am trying to figure out is how to create a .ASP page to connect to my Access database I uploaded to my web server provider. At their web service I used their "Manage DSN Records" feature to upload my database and create a link. Then inside the Front Page program I am at the "Insert > Database > Results Wizard trying to make the connection. I'm guessing in here I need to enter the Domain Name, DSN Name, Etc. I have tried every possible combination and just get a error message when I click on verify the connection such as:

Outlook 2007 account folders

I have multiple email accounts that come into my Outlook 2007 on my Vista 64 system. The accounts have been set up to go into theiur own folders, but all of a sudden.... they all go into th Inbox (most of the time). I have repaired, deleted/renewed each account, but this did not solve the problem. Please help!

Load Failed

I can not access my FrontPage 2000 files, when trying to open an existing page ... the page does not open and the message appears: Load Failed cannot load LTKRN90N.dll application file has stopped working When I went to do a system restore, there was a Windows update on the date that the program stopped working ... now only FrontPage opens but cannot open any existing pages.

Publish Existing Website to FP2003

I am trying to publish my existing website to FrontPage2003 so that it captures all of the current pages and navigation of my site. I know I need to open the site through FP, but after I get the Open Site box up I'm not able to get FP to look outside of my hard drive to find the site. I tried clicking search web and it brings up Internet Explorer, but then closes the Open Site box. I need to figure out how to get FP to prompt me for the login/password and open/save my site.

FrontPage 2002 on windows 7

windows 7 & FrontPage 2002 Issue -- unable to publish sub web . ( able to publish Home page). I did for a test edit some words on the Homepage itself and that edit WAS successful. I do note that just as the publish web is ending no blue ribbon crosses from left to right . I can click DONE but the edit of the subweb fails. Could having Windows 7 be problem, or what? I had XP Home before.

ACK! FrontPage deleted my forum.

I created a forum (not using FrontPage). Then I went to FrontPage to edit the underlying site. When I hit "publish" and attempted to publish to ftp:, it prompted me-- did I want to delete all the forum pages? They were on the destination server, but not in my web. I clicked "no." About a hundred times. There were so many prompts, over and over, that I eventually hit "cancel" and gave up, figuring I'd have to find another way. index of files

Somehow my index of files have gotten out of order. When I open my web site and click open the list of files come up but they are not alphabetic order. Message Board Won't Work

I have a message board on my site. Front Page Extensions are installed. I have the message directed to my email address, but when a message is put in, what comes up is "Page not found." On the dialog box that comes up in Front Page when I click on the form and click Properties, I have checked Send to and under it have filled in my email address, but there is also a space to put in a file name. I have left that space blank, not knowing what to put in. Is that the problem, and if so, what file name goes into that space?
