I run excel 2000. Lately I have received xls files as email attachments that 
I cannot open with excel 2000. A window opens, but it's blank.

What can I do?

I had earlier downloaded a "conversion program" but it doesn't seem to work 
with the last batch of files I received.

If you save the attachment to your harddrive, open excel, then File|Open your
workbook, does it work?

If no, what does blank mean?

If you hit File|Print preview, is it there?

If yes, then try:  
Window|Arrange|tiled
and resize it the way you like
