"broken" y-axis in Excel charts
I often need to graph two parameters on the same bar graph whose high
values differ by a great deal - sometimes by a factor of 10 or 20 -
which makes the lower values almost disappear. I could use a second y
axis but sometimes it's inconvenient to do so. I have seen charts in
scientific journals that "break" the y-axis to indicate that the scale
has been compressed and partially hidden. Is this possible in Excel?
It would really come in handy sometimes.

Assume the 3 cols are cols C to E
In F2, copied down: =SUMPRODUCT(--MATCH(C2:E2,C2:E2,0))=3
Then apply n autofilter for TRUE in F1, delete these filtered rows

I have a worksheet with hourly rate column and hours
columns. Because of the confidentiality of the hourly rate
so I would like to hide the rate column but still able to
allow my team to enter hours. Sounds like I really want to
prevent unauthorized persons to un-hike the rate column but
still allow them to update hours columns.
Is it somethig do-able in excel?

I have a marketing list that contains more than one person from a company
(for some companies). I want to be able to remove the duplicates based on
title. Example: I want to be able to filter the list so if there is a CIO,
CFO and CEO I want the CIO and remove the CFO and CEO. If no CIO then keep
the CFO and remove the CEO. If no CIO or CFO then keep the CEO. The key is I
want the list to have one person per company but not exclude any companies.

However, this does add a zero to formulas...

I have just been editing a multi-page word document and something I did has
made a dotted line appear. It goes across the page from margin to margin.
Whatever I do to try to remove it doesn't seem to work. The line was not in
the original so some I assume some key or setting I have touched has done it.
The Word I am using is MS Office Word 2007 - something I find is a lot more
fiddly than the older version I have used for years.

I put some add in to my Outlook 2003 about 8 months ago that was
supposed to help me keep track of my emails. I did not like it and
uninstalled it. However, any time I create a new mail folder now
outlook automatically makes a thread and categories column. How can I
get it to stop this behavior?
I would also like a way to remove all the categories and thread columns
in all my folders so I don't have to go into each folder and do it by
hand. I am a programmer so doing it programmatically is not an issue.

We are running GP 9.0 SP1 and want to use the Process Server function. All
the documentation says to make sure you have the Process Server installed on
the machine you want to use as a process server. Yet, these same documents
indicate that the Process Server is automatically installed with the product.
Hunting around I found the "installed" files dps.exe and dpm.exe are to be
used for the Process Server. Launching dps.exe and opening the dynamics.set
into the console seems to be what makes the Process Server work. When you
close the console, it stops the Process Server.

We have a standalone workstation with Excel on it.
When a user double clicks on a spreadsheet to open it, Excel opens up, but
then the spreadsheet will not open. The message that comes up is something
to the effect of "path cannot be found".
If the user open Excel first and then using Excel's File-Open dialog box,
the file can be opened.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this issue.

The Content Library is in its own folder, no reason why you cannot browse to it
and insert a picture from there. The .cspub format is a descriptive file that
holds the information about the content. Those files cannot be opened.

I've been having some issues with my laptop and RAM ever since I got it,
and am really getting tired of being so limited by vista on only 2 gigs
of RAM. I have been trying to search for a fix of my problem and haven't

Here's the issue. I have 4GB of RAM physically installed in the
computer. I've checked bios, and it confirms the 4GB. When I view system
information in windows, it too shows 4GB of RAM installed, but when I
view the task manager, my system resource tab shows only 2GB of physica...Will restoring CRM 3.0 databases to remove bad data cause offline client issues?
We recently did an import into our CRM 3.0 install, and would like to
restore our CRM Db's to remove that data. If we have Outlook clients that
are currently online, but have gone offline and back online agains since the
bad data was imported, what will the effect on them be? Will the data that
is removed from restoring the databases still be on the laptops? Or will the
next time they go offline will it be removed?
