DPM 2010 RC - SQL error when backing up Sharepoint 2010 beta

  • Follow

Hi,

we are using DPM 2010 RC and Windows Server 2008 and are trying to backup
Sharepoint 2010 beta and a Windows Server 2008.

When creating a protection group the Sharepoint is recognized but when
clicking on the sharepoint item itself I receive the following error:
DPM 2010 cannot protect SharePoint farm as it cannot detect the
configuration of the dependent SQL database

Any information/help is highly appreciated.

Have you run the pre-requisite "ConfigureSharePoint.exe" on the front end
web server.
Please go through this for further details:

Hi,

ok I found the solution myself. I found the same error message in a post for DPM 2007. Just as in DPM2007 on the sharepoint server you have to issue the command
"ConfigureSharepoint.exe -enablesharepointprotection".
