We conducted training based on data in a test company in this new GP 10.0
implementation. Afterward, we removed all history in that test company,
except for GL history which cannot be removed until year-end. And, I
conducted a journal entry directly in the GL to set account balances to "0"
for go-live (just to get everything back to level playing field).
Then, we made a backup of this test company and restored the backup into the
live company database for "go-live". In other words, we condcuted a thorough

my Mac. It tells me that it can't find any programs to update, but the
whole Office suite 2004 is installed. I run 10.4.3.

Is it possible that you are already updated to 11.2? Launch one of the
Office apps, go to its name in the menu bar & select About... To see what
version number displays.
Another possibility is if Office is installed for one user on a multi-user
system & you are running the updater while logged in as a different user.

We have populated our Active Directory users with private details that
we don't want to be shown when a user right clicks on the properties of
the user in Outlook. We have removed these fields using the Address
Details Template from within Exchange System manager and this appears
to work successfully when looking at the GAL, however when a user
creates a meeting and invites attendees they can view the users private
details. Is there something different about the way the details
template works with the calendaring function or is there a different

Is there a way to have the Inventory Reconcile Utility in either 9.0 or 10.0
run automatically, say overnight?
The reconcile can only be run, on this GP 9.0 install anyway, when users are
out of the system. Otherwise, we get the error message saying that this
process cannot be run while invoices are being posted. It's a hassle to have
to do it late at night or on the weekends manually.

developed on VC++. From one of the VC apps, i launch a utility (dusc.exe)
which converts .dus file to .dup(passed as command line arguments). This
utility runs on command window. The problem is, if the utility finds some
mistakes in .dus file while converting it to .dup, it displays error message
in command window. I want to read this error in my application to alert the
user about the error.

Our shipping department moves existing tickets in existing batches into new
batches for product transfers to our several branches and in doing so they
leave the original batch empty - now we have many (going back to last year)

The only way we have been able to come up with for tracking our returns for
credit is to standardize the "Remarks" and "Title" fields on the transfers.
If you standardized these fields ie "Return to suplier for credit" you can
filter them out on reports.

We use barcode scanners and Maximum Data's InTouch software to maintain our
inventory. The scanners are setup to close an inventory batch with a press
of a button. The user then posts the batch to the General Ledger for review
by the accounting department.
There is no indication in the Inventory Batch ID window, that a batch has
been posted prior to posting to the GL. As a result, unposted inventory
batches are posted to the GL which messes things up just a bit.

In the detail inquiry the balance shown is the current balance for current
year and in the detail history inquiry the ballance shown is the end of year

We've upgraded GP8 PA to GP9, and one difference is Purchasing using POP.
For Purchasing expenses prior to our GP9 upgrade, this TB report shows
Project data when selecting Document Detail.
I.e. when running it currently, for transactions dated after our GP9 upgrade

give the Total Discount right.
If I have sold an item for 2.99 and the regular price is 3.99 the Total
