Backups constantly failing

  • Follow

I installed DPM 2007 on server 2008 64bit with a Quantum Superloader 3 which
has a LTO 3 tape drive and space for 16 tapes. When I tested a backup I was
able to backup a SQL database from another server without a problem. However,
every single backup since then has failed with the same error:

Type:	Tape backup
Status:	Failed
Description:	DPM encountered a critical error while performing an I/O
operation on the tape Monthly Server Backup (no users, shared areas, SQL or
email)-00000001 (COP159L3) (Barcode - COP159L3) in Drive Quantum LTO 3 Tape
Drive. (ID 30101 Details: The request could not be performed because of an
I/O device error (0x8007045D))
End time:	23/02/2010 11:41:05
Start time:	23/02/2010 11:37:53
Time elapsed:	00:03:12
Data transferred:	78.06 MB
Cluster node	-
Source details:	C:\
Protection group:	Monthly Server Backup (no users, shared areas, SQL or email)
Library:	Quantum SuperLoader
Tape Label (Barcode):	Monthly Server Backup (no users, shared areas, SQL or
email)-00000001 (COP159L3)
