Installation Error

I'm installing CRM 3.0 onto SBS2003 R2 Premium with SQL2005 SP2 and I'm
getting this error: The Reporting Services Report-Server
http://servername/Reportserver cannot be validated. Error: The feature
"Customizing Security Roles" is not supported in this edition of the
Reporting Services. Is there any fix for this yet?

this is a problem when sql2005 sp2 is installed. you need to uninstall sql
server, reinstall (without applying sp2), then install crm 3.

I believe there is a sp2a availiable that is better for crm though I haven't
tried it. I also have not tried installing sp2 after installing crm 3, I'm
thinking I will look at the sp2a option.

regards
Daniel.

Hi Bryce,

Here is another option that may work for you:

============================================
When you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 on a server that is running
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS 2003) Release 2
(R2), you receive the following error message:
The full-text component is not installed on the specified SQL Server.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Windows SBS 2003 R2 contains Microsoft SQL
Server 2005 Workgroup Edition. By default, if SQL Server 2005 Workgroup
Edition is installed, the Full-Text Search service is disabled.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run,
type appwiz.cpl , and then click OK.
2. Click Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and then click Change.
3. Click the instance of SQL Server 2005 that is used for the Microsoft
Dynamics CRM 3.0 server, and then click Next.
4. Click Next two times to complete the preinstallation check process.
5.  Click Change Installed Components.
6. Expand Database Services, click Full-Text Search, and then click Next.
7.  Click Install.
===========================================

Please let me know if this helps you out.

Kind regards,
Mike

Hi all,

I found a solution for this:

Put the 1 cd of SBS2003 R2 in your CD drive , open a command prompt and copy
this command:

Start /wait E:\sql2005\setup.exe /qb INSTANCENAME=MSSQLSERVER
ADDLOCAL=SQL_FullText SQLACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" AGTACCOUNT="NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"

(if you did a default installation with the network service as the sqlserver
service account, otherwise:

While specifying the SQLACCOUNT, AGTACCOUNT and SQLBROWSERACCOUNT, refer to
these guidelines:

Domain User account          :        <domain\user>
Local System Account : "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"
Network Service Account : "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE"
Local Service Account : "NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE

More info can be fount in the template.ini in the root of the DVD from the
1st DVD of SBS2003 R2)

After installation, reboot the server... and install CRM

Gr,

Joep
